Dragons are a species, there probably is no limit to them (except when heroes go about making dragon omelette), just a matter of how many of the really power old ones are going to come alive for GW2.
There are plenty of large monsters in the ancient past of the GW world, it seems. You see their bones all over the place. May be old dead dragons, or other stuff.
Whether Kunaaveg and Saltspray dragons are the same species as Glint and/or the ancient dragons, is another question altogether. Who knows are are ancient and powerful Canthan style dragons too, mind-controlling the future emperor to help set it free.
While its cliched, I hope there are some ancient good dragons too, to give us a hand.

Was it ever made clear that the Ancient Dragons are older than Dragons like Kuunavang and Glint or are they about the same age but much more powerful? From what I read the Ancient Dragons are at least as powerful as the Gods but power and age don't always go hand and hand.

Here you go:
Quote:
Although these creatures are called dragons, they are as different from Kuunavang and Glint as night to day—more powerful, older, born of different, unfathomable magic, these horrors are controlled by no god nor any other power known to the races of Tyria. What connection they have to these "younger dragons" is unknown, but they certainly do not possess the mercy or familiarity with the sentient races of the world that Kuunavang or Glint portray. The cycle of their awakening reaches back to the time of the giganticus lupicus, and even further, back into prehistory. The only thing known about these monsters is that they have no pity, no curiosity—no concern at all for the other races of the world. Their only goal seems to be to dominate, to control, and to destroy

So magic created the dragons, does that mean they are from the mists or were created by something else? They predate man and the forgotten easily. They seem to be the antithesis of teh current gods who are more of a hands off kinda thing, prehaps they are the other half of the balancing act? Like many people see dwayna and grenth as opposites but maybe they have different opposites too (if that makes any sense).

I doubt there is any such thing... I've been hearing of seven dragons, not six, anyway.

Interesting idea you have there. Also, of what I know, the dragons seem to awake about the time the gods completely leave Tyria *no longer intervene with human affairs*. A strange coincidence when I think about the dragon's being "the other half of the balancing act." That is, if it is a coincidence.

Especially if GW2 is to return to Tyria and the medieval theme, we may see more lesser dragons.

Although Drakes are put into the same catagory as dragons, they are not Ancient Dragons, there may be more Ancient Dragons for all we know, in another thread some people mentioned the "Main Ancient Dragons" or "Ancient Dragon Overloards" could be connected to the gods, as far as anet has given out, there seems to be one dragon per ancient god *dhuum/grenth (could be of either as they are both gods of death), dwayna, balthazar, melandru, lyssa, abaddon*. If that is the case then maybe there will only be 6 main dragons, and some underling dragons, or generals *just like how the great destroyer was Primordius's general*

In terms of the whole dragons and gods and abaddon relation, other then what i mentioned above, what i once thought of, and reading some of this made me remember it, is this:
Primordious and the other ancient dragons really created the world. They created generals *the very first gods* and started letting their generals create beings. The general's beings where not evil and opposed the ancient dragons. Some of the beings overthrew some of the generals, creating the first 6 gods*possibly 7 if menzies is a god, havn't found anything that says he isnt*. The 6 or 7 gods overthrew the dragons somehow and put them into hibernation. The ancient dragons corrupted Abaddon, Menzies, and Dhuum *not initially* with their last strength. Abaddon's corruption is noticed and he is imprisoned. Dhuum's corruption is later noticed and Grenth overthrew him. Menzies is currently fighting Balthazar. Glint is fooling us with helping the 5 gods *not yet 6*, in order to keep herself safe, same for kuunavang. Abaddon, Dhuum, and Menzies are attempting to prepare the way for their masters *the ancient dragons* but are stopped by the 5/6 gods and glint/kuunavang, because they wanted to have all *now* 8 gods dead. Dragons awake because the gods' hold on them fail, in fear the gods leave the world completely *stop giving favor and wanting heroes to save the world.

Arachni's Haunt... Dragon?
After clearing Arachni's Haunt, I notice that there were bones of massive and epic proportions. Some resemble a dragon's rib cage or neck, and I am wandering if this is one of the graveyard of ancient dragon.... perhaps a sleeping place of an undead one?
What do you guy think?

Same types of bones are all over Tyria. Look at the Crystal Desert, Desolation, and many dungeons in EoTN like the first level of Raven's Point.

Pre-Searing Catacombs too.
There's a pretty epic skeleton under the iron bridge where the Gargoyle Skull Collector is.
