In my opinion the dragon is the real great destroyer. It could have been a long since buried true giant with some form of control over itself/it's powers.

It is most likely the one below Orr considering its location. However it does look a little like Primordus (We cant say it is him exactly since we have only seen Primordus covered in stone)

I think the Great Destroyer we fought was the real Great Destroyer - its just we took it to be a mighty powerful threat that would destroy the world when in fact it was waiting for the thing that would end up destroying the world. if you think about it the name suits it - Its greater than the other destroyers hence the Great Destroyer.

This is what I am getting from the reading of the magazine so far.

Primordus is the first to awaken where his ex-general The Great Destroyer lived. He was supposed to awaken two generations before; if it was not for the Great Destroyers defeat.

A Elder Dragon of ice and snow has also awaken; which led to the fall of Gunnar’s Hold and eventual Norn move to old dwarf territory. I am thinking that beast we saw in Drakkar Lake finally thawed.

The Dragon beneath the kingdom of Orr (not Primordus), is a powerful undead dragon. The leader of the bone dragons did cross my mind. He is responsible for Orr rising, and the Orrian people not finding rest after all this time. Furthermore it has cut off the ports of Tyria from doing trade with both Cantha and Elona, by killing anyone who tries to pass the former Orrian Kingdom.

A desert dragon seems to loom in Northern area of the Crystal Desert. However Palawa Joko continues to rule over the southern portion of it. Something tells me there is a war between the two powers that has neither a winner or looser. It also brings up questions about Glint and her young’s survival in all of this.

I know there are other Dragons according to the art that have been hidden. One that is in the Charr territory is likely to drive the Charr out of their homeland.

Mt theory is that Dragons represent the chaotic nature of Tyria, opposite from that of the six gods (including Komir) themselves. They probably did battle against these ancient creatures, before they actually have the ability to manipulate Tyria. However like the gods, these Ancient Dragons can never be truly destroyed, but put into a type of hibernation. Furthermore I can see one ancient dragon for each of the elements, just like the Titans.

Maybe Rotscale is the undead dragon's general? He's certainly powerful enough, much harder than TGD

Doubtful. I would have to suspect it is another new dragon.

The magazine mentions a dragon that comes from the north and flies south across Charr territory and Ascalon leaving a trail of destruction. Due to this, I think the "water dragon" as it is known on the wiki is one and the same with the "desert dragon" of the article.

There have been 5 dragons mentioned so far, possibly 6 depending on whether or not the "water dragon" and "desert dragon" are the same.

Fascinating it will be the Dragon's that will bring the races together and thus allowing us to play those races as their heroes.

Or maybe it's like a jeepers creeps style thing, where they sleep for a certain amount of time, and in the time they are awake they have the chance to get as much of tyria under their control...

Here's the full article on the PCGamer's site. The Movement of the World

Hopefully this will clear up any misconceptions/2nd hand information people may have about GW2. Although, it'll probably breed more speculation :P .

You mean the whole 23 days of being awake and then 23 years of hibernation thing? thats an interesting theory. It could be the Dragons have to go into hibernation after a set period of time. Perhaps the Dragons could be trying to get as much as Tyria under their control in order to find a way to lengthen their awake time or stop the hibernation process completely.

Unless these dragons are related to The Great Destroyer, perhaps that puny thing in GW:EN WAS The Great Destroyer.

However, the Tome of Rubicon says that The Great Dwarf would fight The Great Destroyer.

Unless some corny thing is put into the story like "The Great Dwarf lives on in all of us", then, last time I checked, we're not The Great Dwarf.

Yeah. But if they've slept for thousands of yeas, that sort of leaves us in a tight situation; thooouuussands of days awake...yeaaaaah.....crud. lol

that or there was a great battle so long ago between the 5 gods and these dragons, and the dragons were sealed away or banished or just went for a nap and the 5 gods turned off their alarm clocks. Who knows? Lets ask the avatars of thee gods! XD

/kneel "Yo, whaz tha skiny on doze dragonz bruvzz?!1/1"

Lets go to ToA and spam the kneel emote until one of the gods themselves show up.

There is something I'm still not sure about...

So how are the Destroyers related to the dragons? We originally thought the Dragon at the end of GW:EN was the true Great Destroyer, though he is apparently Primordus or one of the other dragons. The whole thing about the destroyers affecting the dragons' wakeup time is what I'm not sure about.

The way I see it (it feels like I'm repeating myself), it's like this:

The Destroyers were speeding up the dragons' wakeup time somehow, either by destroying or just existing. Defeating The Great Destroyer (who wasn't that great) dealt a major blow to this wakeup effort, thereby making it take longer for Primordus to wake up - specifically, so that instead of waking up around GW:EN time, he'd have to wait a few centuries for GW2 until he awakens?

From the sound of it the Destroyers are the main minions of Primordus. Since they appeared exactly under Primordus its possible that he was the one that awakened them by leaking power - if his breath creates life then perhaps it was somehow let out giving life to the Destroyers.

The Great Destroyer was in that chamber for a long time - isnt it possible that all the time it was working to not only send out the minor Destroyers but also take years off Primordus's awakening time in some way. Perhaps the whole point of the Destroyers was to destroy life in order to awaken Primordus, instead of clearing out for the arrival of the GD. Its a long shot but what if by killing creatures they were harvesting something (souls perhaps) that was powering up Primordus?.

I think that that destroyers had a bond with primordus. I don't think that they were powering him up by existing, i think that by dieing they caused primordus to weaken.

also will we be fighting more destroyers in GW2? the PC gamer said that primordus created them in the first place and after they were killed he created more minions.

The Great Destroyer was just Primordus's general and the Destroyers were just his minions. I seriously doubt the Destroyers strengthened or powered up Primordus in any way. That's pretty silly....

Remember, Primordus was asleep. Do you need to be strengthened or powered up when you're asleep? No, you just need to woken up. That was the Destroyer's job. They were clearing out the mountains so nothing could interfere or screw anything up, and then they were going to wake Primordus up. Since we killed the Destroyers, Primordus's awakening got delayed.

In other words, we smashed Primordus's alarm clock. As a result, he slept in for about 200 years.

Maybe it's a comfortable way to sleep if you're an ancient primordial dragon?

Since your reffering to my post i did say it was long shot speculation. I'm pretty sure something else is involved when trying to wake up an ancient Dragon - not a simple prod it and it will wake up. I may not need to be powered up when i'm asleep but then again i'm not a godlike Dragon sealed in stone.

When you look at him, Primordus doesnt look like a traditional Dragon (he kinda reminds me of a huge version of The Great Destroyer). There are huge leglike things coming from aroudn the sides which suggests that the thing at the back is his body. So hes jsut sleeping with his head bowed. Though i doubt its comfortable
