Default Forbidden Fruit

So i searched this and found nothing so sorry if this is a repeat, or if its in the wrong area.

But today i was doing the quest Forbidden Fruit to get the Tryptophan Signet. I have done this quest more than a few times on different toons, but for some reason today this quest hit me really odd.

If Vael has something that can knock out whole groups of Charr, why was this not used enmasse to get rid of them in the first place? Or if it was something new after the Searing, then why hasnt it been put to use more now? And why after we knock them out, do we go in and poison thier food instead of just slaughtering them while they sleep? Seems to me, why poison their food and kill them slowly, or give them a chance to cure themselves, if we just plan on killing them later? Granted this is done so we understand the idea of the skill. But in the Lore of it all....doesnt seem to make much sense.

Well, I would guess that we don't slaughter them because poisoned food should spread to charr outside the camp (like the ones on patrol or at guard towers) and thus increase the damage. Also, they're only knocked out for three minutes, and that's a lot of throats to cut in only three minutes. Furthermore, poison allows us to assassinate the Charr leaders without the blame/retaliation immediately falling on the Vanguard (for all they know, it could have been a rival Charr leader, or a Grawl).

I would also surmise that this hasn't been done before for two reasons. One, you have to be a crazy mo-fo to single-handedly try and knock out an entire camp of Charr and live to tell the tale. Two, poisoning really only works once. After this, I doubt any Charr is going to wolf down his food carefree after an unexpectedly long nap, they'll be more suspicious and poison will be less effective. But then again, those seeds of doubt and distrust are another benefit of poisoning them rather than killing them.

The whole point of that quest was to eliminate the warband leaders without casting suspision on the Ebon Vanguard. So they poison the food to make it look like the Warband that invited the other two killed their leaders. If they had figured out it was the humans all three warbands would of joined together - something the Ebon Vanguard dont want.

And the potion that knocks them out seems to have only been created recently by an Asura - there was no human contact with the Asura when the Searing happened. As to why they dont use it more often perhaps its due to the arrogance of the Asura - or perhaps they do use it but only for covert missions.

Alternatively, it could be rare and expensive - something to be used sparingly, not something you can just load on siege engines and fling around willy-nilly.

Drax, Free Runner, Smilingscar,

All good reasons. Thanks for the inputs mates.

Rice Angel, you are useless. For future reference, if you cant add something interesting to say, STFU.
