They were brothers that challenged Grenth to a duel and lost to him. He then decided to turn them into twin serpents as punishment.

The Reaper of the Twin Serpent Mountain (Where your screen is) explains it.

This mountain stands as a reminder to all those who serve Grenth. Be careful that you do not incur such a punishment

GOOD FIND
Someone suggested in one of my posts that this creature will smash down eye of the north.
My original idea was that at the back of the honour shrine there is a path
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10260690
Any suggestions?

Looking at the 2 dragons in EoTN reminded me of a poem I once read...

Fire and Ice

SOME say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice, 5
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
~Robert Frost

One dragon of fire, another of ice. Either alone would be sufficient for the destruction of the world, what might both bring? (And I seem to recall the Norse mythos having the world end with ice...)

Hmmm if they made Drakkar a fight-able creature in GW2, imagine the possibilities. *imagines* A huge dragon comes to attack Olafstead, we are sent there to try and stop it, we die. It attacks the EoTN we are summoned there by Glint to kill her demented uncle, we die. It goes to Sifhalla for a martini but doesn't pay afterward, the cops send us there to arrest it, we die. Need I continue?

If Anet decides to put it in GW2 then it'll be some kind of challenge mission where we fight off Drakkar's ice minions and at the end, Drakkar comes and kills us, our reward? A nice room with a view in the Hall of Heroes.

* Drakkar obviously DOESN'T look like Lugia, more like a bunny. A sick, twisted evil bunny that everybody hates.

Methinks the dragons are so huge we'll either battle them on the inside (think Gate of Pain but more actiony and the dragon is marching towards the Eye of the North as you are inside it), or...

As the dragon makes its way to the Eye of the North or wherever, you ride on its huge back. As many people as you want can ride on him, but the "ride" would be really shaky. You will have to move around him to avoid falling off and cracking your head open on the ground. Perhaps as this goes on you have to make your way to his head and poke his eye out (but he's so big "poking" his eye would be like fighting a level 31 "eyeball")?

Those. Are. STATUES! If they were actual Dragons, why do they keep spitting out fire? Also, if there was no known origin, the Canthans would have already taken ships over there to check em out (then again the Norn sure don't seem to care about Drakkar).

Perhaps they were made as a monument to something, by the same person, so they intentionally face one another?

The dragons in cantha are not statues...they are LIGHTHOUSES. Come on, think about it, do you think Anet was really thinking about the ancient dragons concept when they were DESIGNING Factions?!? Please, enough with that annying concept, it has no real evidence to suggest it being an ancient dragon.
Anyways, I find it funny people are still thinking "if" they make Drakkar a boss in GW2. Trust me when I say this, they will, and if I am somehow wrong and they don't, then NPCs kill it, its 100% known its a main enemy of GW2, just like Primordus.
But something that would be cool, is if they add a random general of one of the dragons or a weaker ancient dragon to awaken and attack the players as they explore, of course making it a very high level, like lvl 40 , as just a random pop up, or adding in quests, just to satisfy people like me who are waiting on the edge of our seats for our chance to fight the dragons in GW2.

Good idea Azazel. We already know that GW2 will have random events in explorable areas, know what'd be annoying but funny?

One of the dragons just flies by and you have to hide or you'll get BURNINATED!

Then again the timing may be annoying if you're about to turn in some big quest.

In the old days of prophecies it was said that the stones that let out the magical powers to everything any anything were found by the gods? Perhaps these stones were from the dragons(i think eggs that have laid dormant with parents) and it says that the gods got the stones taken from them but it doesn't say what from?

Er..You're a bit confused.

The Gods created the Bloodstones after Doric went to Arah and made a plea for them to help. The Bloodstones trapped certain aspects of magic so that others could not use all of them together and instead would have to work together to get the full effect. After they made the Bloodstone, it was split into several pieces, and dropped into the volcano at the Ring of the Fire Islands Chain.

You have:
Aggression
Denial
Preservation
Destruction

Then lastly, the Keystone. Without it, you cannot reassemble the other Bloodstones.

On the subject of the Norn ice dragon: have you guys noticed there' a similar "glow from below" near the fossilized centipede-like monster just north of Leviathan Pits?
I can't see any dragon in the jade there, but it's awkward to maneuvre the camera there so there might still be one.

That centipede monster is called a Leviathan, you can fight some in the Deep.

It isn't a dragon, we won't be able to see any ancient dragons in any place except Eye of the North. ANet didn't plan THAT far ahead.

I wish people would get that...

I wish people would learn to read. The glow doesn't come from the centipede monster, it's just nearby. AFAI know this is one of only two places in all three campaigns where there's a "glow from below". Also AFAI can remember there was no glow there before EOTN was released.
