That's actually a different phenomenon altogether - parallel universes from the Many Worlds approach are really no more 'pocket' than any other. TARDIS-like squeezings of a large space inside a smaller space are the domain of general relativity.

Eh, true, but whenever applied to another, fantasy, world, it could be different. It is indicated in the Manuscripts that Tyria exists within a multiverse, after all.

As I was trying to point out, I don't think it acts differently in this fantasy "world." As for the multiverse, there could be three meanings:

1) "Universe" and "world," along with "realm" are all interchangable, and that just means there are multiple worlds/realms out there. We know that world and realm are interchangeable, as there is a primary quest in Nightfall which calls Tyria a realm.

2) The multiple universes (or would it just be "verses" as uni means one...) are (uni)verses which have no particular similarities (basically, just (uni)verses existing side by side).

3) The multiple (uni)verses are copies of each other, only changing from, as Leon brought up, choices which stem different (uni)verses.

As is the case for reality, the third choice means (uni)verses are made by the second. This also means the Mists would be limitless. Space being limitless is understandable, but something being limitless is harder to grasp, which puts an uncertainty in that.

I personally think that, in this case, the "multiverse" would be the first case. I say this because, if I recall correctly, while what Leon quotes says "across the multiverse" it is said the Rift connects to the worlds. If worlds and realms were not interchangeable with universe, then it would say that the Rift connects to the (uni)verses, as that would be more true than worlds (though it would also connect to the worlds within the (uni)verses.

In the paragraph it says nothing of worlds, just what I have quoted above.

I didn't mean it says the Rift is connected to worlds in the Manuscripts. >_>

Then what were you getting at with this? I honestly can't think of any in-game references to the Rift, at all..It's a tad odd, actually, and yet, simultaneously, not.

what was I getting with that? Not the location of the quotation, but the wording of what was said. If it does somewhere say worlds, as I recall, then it would give a little (keyword: little) boost for the first possibility.
