Abaddon, Lord of Demons
Abaddon, Lord of Destruction
Abaddon the Corrupt
The Fallen God
(I don't know how many of those are true but they sound right)

It would actually be Abaddon, God of Secrets, The Fallen God. I don't think he's called "Lord" anywhere. He may be called the Corrupt though. But this is off topic.

I had initially planned on just posting: Blacksmith. Then I realized there were many more interesting professions in Tyria, as in other online games, there usually aren't, aside from the obvious playable ones.
Also, it would appear no one got the joke with the librarian choice.

No, I got the joke. whats the NPC's name? Gemir Lenon or something?
But Abaddon does have plenty of informal names that I've heard thrown around, or atleast ones that sound right.

Honestly I would just like to live as a farmer in pre-searing Ascalon, that place is just beautiful, I have such fond memories of starting out there.
If post-searing Ascalon, I would be a merchant in Lion's Arch, which is another great city.

The joke, Leon, was too easy. I got it right away. Less than a second after reading the word.
A serious choice of mine would be either a librarian/researcher/historian etc. Or a "Mage Lord" if such actually exists as that's a player coined word.

Not quite. If you pay attention to the presearing quests, there are mentions of the Guild Wars having ended (although it was a recent thing), and of Adelburn being responsible for bringing Ascalon's guilds under control and bringing Ascalon's part in the Guild Wars to an end (as opposed to the previous king, who was too weak to control the guilds).
I think what actually happened is that the Guild Wars ended when the Charr started their invasion, which caused Adelburn to knock some proverbial heads together and at least get Ascalon out of the Guild Wars so they could concentrate on the bigger problem. During "presearing", the invasion is stalled at the Wall, but Ascalon has already lost its territory north of the wall, including Surmia, Drascir, Grendich and Nolani. After the Searing hit and the Charr swept through, the whole period of the invasion was referred to as the Searing, even though the actual Searing didn't happen until partway through.

Because pre searing rocks, and my guy would kick some serious ring piece and stop the searing from ever happening!
Then I'd have a paradise to live in.

Yea but you'd have to deal with Orr and kryta getting back into a war. :\
(and abbadon would probably find a way to send reinforcements to the charr)

I would have to only partly agree, due to a comment by one of the Ascalon Guards in Pre-Searing mentioning the Ascalon's Chosen out fighting an Orrian guild.

I would take the Cauldron of Cataclysm to the realm of torment and blitz him with it. Then I would continue to shove it where the sun don't shine and after that I'll go back to guarding little fishing villages from low level skale, black bears and bandits.
Oh also I would remind the king that he does have elementalists at his disposal too and that he should start bloody using them. Then we'd take over the entire charr lands, excavate that dragon and send it to the realm of torment too, and ascalon would have a huge wall running all the way around it's kingdom so that it can live in peace without Kryta or Orr killing us dead.
How's that for a slice of fried gold?

I'd be Balthazar. That way I can sit on my ass all day with worshipers and get weak humans to clean up my messes (Abbaddon and Menzies), then I can WTFROFL at the noobs trash-talking each other in pvp.

How will you get into the Realm of Torment? The path only opens in two parts, one is started by the Searing, the other by Varesh. And if you never go to Lion's Arch, how will you know of Varesh's threat? Not only that, but you wouldn't know of the Dragons, and Ascalon did use elementalists, who failed horribly by getting caught before the Searing (The Flaming Scepter Mages).
And you know how long that wall would take to make? You'd be dead before the length of the current wall was finished. o_O

But seriously, I do have an explanation, though it's pretty off topic and I've already gone over it so I thought I'd spare you all the long read about time travel stones and saving Ascalon and such.
