what creatures are those bones?
I dunno if this has discussed before but I did some google and haven't found anything.
By vanquishing and mapping, I found bones of some creature thru out crystal desert. I'm not very expertise in the lore of the desert, I wonder what those are. I mean, those bones are gigantic! As far as I know, I cant think of anything as big as those, except, dragons. But there are sooo many of them I really doubt those big dragon would crowd in such a small area.
Any thoughts?

My gues would be remains of the "Giganticus Lupicus" .
From wiki:
According to scholars, the Giganticus Lupicus, also known as "True Giants," were beings that walked the soil of Tyria long before the Forgotten were brought to world by the gods. Little is known about the giants other than what can be inferred from their gigantic remains that lay scattered about Tyria. There are several that can be found deep within Charr territory north of Great Northern Wall, and many more within the Crystal Desert.

hmm i remeber from wiki(a while ago so it might not be the newest info on the block.. but hey.. lore doesnt change much ;D) but im fairly sure they were really really big @$$ giants.
i think they got into some kind of war w/ dragons or something like that( might havebeen a metor or something wiping them out like the dinos...) and they essentially went through a very bad mass extinction... but yea those bones are big.. a bit scary too ;D

Those bones, and the giant bones seen in Ascalon, the Desolation, and several dungeons, are the bones of the now-extinct Giganticus Lupicus.
All that is known about these things is that they went extinct around the year 10,000 BE.
There are many theories regarding them, most recent ones being what Tobi said - that they fought and lost against the elder dragons. Others being that they were simply eaten (no war) by the elder dragons, and another one being that the Giganticus Lupicus are of the same species (multiple species, as there are more than one kind of bones - 3 spines and 2 skulls thus far) as the elder dragons, and the five elder dragons are the last remaining Giganticus Lupicus.
I believe that there is a thread on the GL elsewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

Thank you for the info there.
yea it makes sense that the elder dragons must have done something about them.(or else nothing can kill them or deal with them i think lol.)
Hope Anet would give a little history about them in GW2

Actually, they could of simply died from starvation (not enough food in the world), or a natural disaster (gone the way of the dinosaurs), or even some other threat that we don't know about or do know about but never heard of said threat dealing with the GL (such as the gods).
There's many possibilities.

Just to point this out, this has not been confirmed by Anet in any interview (that I am aware of, anyway) or any dialogue from characters or any of the Manuscripts. It's extremely likely that is what the bones are of, but there is the possibility that this is not the case.
