For Sprite, he was referring to the Tarnished Coast. Well should have been. Gaile had to post corrections. (Orr isn't in GW:EN)

that seems like the right mountain in your pic, but it cant be the same mountain viewed from the other areas, it is much too small, it seems to appear smaller from where you are then from elona =)

Anyone else think that we might be able to travel to this mountain in GW2? I remember people saying that it might be used to imprison a creature of some sort OR it's just a hangout for something else. For one of those sleeping ancient dragons this looks like a perfect place to me.

I keep seeing mention to a "black dot" that shows once you beat the campaign....I beat it and I don't have a black dot show up at all...
Anyways...I think the mountain was just anet being lazy and using it as a skin for a cloud, like how they use the same skin/map for many things in EN, why wouldnt they in NF a bit?

Anet moved it. I had ( infact i probably still have it not checked lately) it after completing Nightfall a few days after it came out. According to Gaile it was just a small artist mistake and has nothing to do with this mountain. As for the mountain its possible it was going to be somewhat related to Guild Wars: Utopia.

It's just a generic skybox that the map designers use in all of their maps related to the same area. There aren't any important, looming features in the background, aside from 2D objects that can be hovered over the horizonline of the skybox, if needed. This same skybox is reused several times on a variety of maps in Factions. In some cases the mountain is never visible because of the arrangement of the map environment. Only in a few cases is the player avatar ever in a position to see the skybox's details at that angle. I imagine whoever made the skybox's texture simply transposed the image of a mountain into the texture because it's an, overall, featureless texture. It's just a generic "there's stuff in the distance" item. There are numerous other examples - that aren't quite as interesting - in other GW skybox textures.
No Utopia where the gods gather. It's just a texture.

Woohoo, thread necromancy.
On a sidenote, yeah, it's just random skybox features.
It's quite possible ANet ripped it from a mountain in real life.
Remember the sky from DOOM?

i would have agreed with you on that but the thing it its ONLY in 3 locations the two i posted and one found When looking out over the water in Fahranur, The First City. also when comparing it to a map of EOTN
We can see that if we are to look in a almost western direction as i am facing in my first posts picture we can see a area of what appear to be high mountain like area im just saying that it might be the like super high peak in the shiverpeaks.

The background mountain can be seen in Fahranur. It was discussed before - and was used as an attempt to determine how far Elona was from the Shiverpeaks (as that is the only mountain range known to be in that general direction).
here is the thread, the images seemed to have been removed.
Please use search and if you have small topics, put them in the random topic and introductions sticky - which is where I'm moving this thread right now until I can accurately split this thread into two - and put them in their accurate threads (as both topics have pre-existing threads).
Edit: Thread split and merged.

My Apology but i was about to add a very long post containing the basic summed up versions of my own recent find and the finds of Gw Guru about the hall of judgment -mursaat connection. I was on a picture hunt in GW which is why i hadn't added to it as soon as i wanted to.

in reference from the view from jahai, this is most defiantly a basic sky texture. proof is in Sunward Marches as well as the Sulfurous Wastes (the points closest to this "mountain"), on a side note, the view in this direction (from sulfurous wastes outside gate of desolation) has mountains shaped of boobs, enjoy looking for that one.
