Unless ANet just didn't get the directions right, I'm definitely thinking this mountain is a part of the heavens, or another dimension. This would fit in with the studies of the mysterious NPC, Bahltek.
Then again, it could just be a random background texture...

why the hell do you do 31 + 61?
those are measures from differents locations.
and yeah, they are nearly parallel, that's what I was pointing.

Lol, dude. Those coordinate systems have different Origin, but same X-axis ( west - east) and Y-axis ( north-south).
If it is 30° + 60° then they are exactly parallel. Well, but this is off topic.
Back on topic : I think if ANet get the right direction, then it is just background because that ice mount is too far away to be able to see it.

Such a vista from a land further south than Tyria begs the question "why can't I see it from Tyria?"
Either that is one BIG. ASS. MOUNTAIN. Or the world is flat. :P

IF it was a volcano it would most likely be Abaddons Mouth, it fits with one of the lines of direction and although the other doesnt quite fit that could be just an error on the part of Anet

Yea come to think of it it could, still wierd though of how theres no snow on that side if its a mountain...
also looks like to me that a big chunk somehow exploted off the mountain.

It is in the direction of the Fire Islands, but it seems much bigger, and it is snowy.

I thought we went over this, its a mountan on the Elona map people.....its just not lined up with it, it happens all the time in guild wars maps, its the mountain on mainland North West of Inlet, its shields the desolation.

It wont be SP because you can see each map has more than one core region of weather I would love to see something like this....
A game that starts with a pre, no not the cantha and elona pres like tyria
and like the charr did they chaged the world made it look diffrent
so that means we start in a pre searing, something bad happens , and then the post searing everything is snowy, icy...since its a new chapt why couldent we have a pre like tria again?

Quite interesting since this is obviously in the middle of the sea

THANK YOU! About time someone agrees that it is in the middle of the ocean, not 1,000,000 miles north/northwest. It's far more west and south than everyone and their leet math skillz seems to think it is. If in fact it is anything other than a skybox.

Well, if its not a volcano, something must have taken a big chunk out of that mountain, and since theres no snow on that side of that mountain, I'd say it was recent

maybe so, but i still maintain the argument that it's just shadow and not a hole, if theres snow in the shadow of a mountain, u wudn't rly see the whiteness of it from that distance, it wud appear as darkness (aka a shadow)
