For those who don't care to go running around Fahranur to see the mountain, you can just visit Jahai Bluffs to see it. Right outside Kodonur Crossroads, look to northwest.

well Missmelady's pic definitely proves it's NOT a cloud. whether it's a sky texture, however, is still up in the air.

in answer to whether or not you should have mastered missions to see the black dot, I'm going to say yes.

I was able to see it on my sin and she had mastered all of the missions and had beaten NF. My monk, however, has beaten NF but has NOT mastered all of the missions yet.

though i don't know why that would factor into anything..o.O; it could also be ranking in the titles...i know my sin is farther than my monk in terms of LB and Sunspear, but I don't know o.o

and they're both canthan born so that rules out whether or not the character is foreign or native.

Nope i dont have masters on every mission yet it is still there. It does not appear on my other characters that have not completed Abaddons Gate.

The mountain can be seen from inside Kodonur Crossroads as well as in Jahai Bluffs. It is less distinct but it is quite visible when looking Northwest.

After reading about Baltehk (or however you spell it), the direction he faces (from my observations) is towards the direction of those mountains. Ive only seen him once, but im pretty sure that large image wasnt there before, its so noticeable

I see several distinct possibilities, or any combination, there of:

-there is no spo...err mountain, in truth, nothing is real.

-it is a UFM, but hard evidence is lacking and eye witness reports are unreliable.

-it's a weather balloon

-Gwen lives up there.

Deldrimor aint teh Shiverpeaks and Deldrimor is not directly above the Shiverpeaks. It's just "north" of it.

Kinda reminds me of Actraiser for some reason...I guess seeing an icy mountain in the middle of the sea reminds me of the ice-tree stage.

No Deldrimor is on the Shiverpeaks. Thunderhead Keep is the capital. Not sure where you got the idea it is north.

oooh yea, with lvl 28 monsters with 20 of stats that do massive damage and outnumber your party, oh wait thats DoA

I watched the clouds pass the "mountain" right outside of kodunur crossroads in Jahai Bluffs, and I think it points to that western mountain range beyond the desolation.

As for the one from Fahranur, not sure if that is in the right direction.

it is veeeeeeery far if it exist...
61° west in jahai
58° in fahranur
and i'm not sure the second one was in the exact direction...
now, the mountain should be....
