Very fun findings here.

I don't think it's a "real" mountain. A Mountain of that size and viewable from that large of a distance is unreal. Surely, a mountain of that size would touch the atmosphere and a bit beyond.

What I do however believe is what Symeon posted, that this could be the "Olympus" of Tyrian World. This could be a glimpse into another dimension, but this surely can not be a "real" mountain of Tyria. Immensely silly if it is...but totally awesome if it's the "Olympus" of Tyria, which would indeed be curious if Chapter 4 is Norse and Northern theme...

Well, I think it is possible that they're real mountains... plural. The one seen from Jahai appears to have had a candidate picked out. The one from Fahrunar... could be on an island to the northwest of Istan.

Or, of course, it could just be a reused graphic the devs weren't expecting players to notice.

I have to say, it just looks like a cloud that looks like a mountain to me.

Well, take what you will from my ramblings.
He might have something. Shangri-La is a mystical land that foats among the clouds hidden to most people. You cant see if trom Tyria, and there are no landmarks on the map where this would be, except this black "dot" that people have talked about. By any chance, of thoes that have seen the mountain beaten nf or have someone in the party that has?

I must ask, what is this "Black Dot" that is being spoken of after completion of the game?

When you finish Nightfall a strange black "dot" appears in the sea north of Istan. This only appears when zoomed out since on zooming in it turns back to the dark seas.

Oh and my own contribution:

The black dot from my own map

And the mountain

Just a thought but does anyone remeber the old Login Screen. The one where your character is standing on a pedistul in the middle of the ocean. If i remeber correct, i believe there was actually 2 sets of mountains ranges, one that was easily identified as the Shiverpeaks, and another i couldnt figure out. Ofcourse there was also the ring of fire, but that would be hard to mistake as a ice caped mountain. I dont know, just a thought.

Dont know if u guys can see with ur graphics card but i noticed when some clouds cleared taht the mountain range runs for a while, if u look to the left of it u can see where the water meets land. Now obviosuly this is a huge land mass that were talking about. I ran from both sides of the city near the water and this land mass went as far left and as fart right as i could see. Were not talking about any thing in tyria here either. The direction of the mountain and stuff are completly wrong. Were looking at a whole new continet. Here im posint a pic with this.

No, it is not the Ring of Fire. And that pic is hilarious.

If it isn't just a skybox texture, it would have to be a whole new continent or island. And it is more West than it is North. There doesn't seem to be anything but water out there, but plenty of room to build a new chapter in the game.

You cannot see it from just any location in the first city.....if you go to the place where the flame traps are and edge over to the wall you can see it in the distance.

Yea the Black Dot perplexed me. I was hoping that it would lead to the elite area in the form of Atlantis-like antics but that was shot down with Mallyx.

It is quite perplexing.
