Default Ice Imp cave satellite looking dealy

Heya, don't know if this has been discussed before, I haven't seen any threads on it, but has any discussion been made as to what the satellite dish looking thing is in the Ice Imp cave where the statue of Dwayna is? Hadn't really thought about it until just the other day, but could it possibly be a primitive version of the transport devices that the Asura use?

You should post this in the lore section...
Anyway, I have been there and honestly I don't know what it supposed to be... I understand however why people call it the ''UFO cave''.

I always assumed it was intended to be a res shrine, but they decided against it in the end. :\

They could be merely decorations. I started a thread a while back speculating about the possibility of them being pre-positioned portals into GW:EN territories (Not saying they are) but it didn't carry much interest and died.

What beacons are you talking about? The only ones I ever remember seeing are the ones in Borlis Pass & The Frost Gate outpost - both are flaming beacons, not glowing, humming orbs. And why would there be beaconsinside a cave? Sorry, but it makes no sense.

You can't actually see it in that photo, he's just using it as a reference point.

To the OP: Yeah, this has been mulled over for.. well.. about two years now. ;D People would occasionally run across it exploring Mineral Springs for the heck of it (back in the day, before you whippersnappers and your cartography titles); and then it got a lot of attention once Icy Dragon Swords started to drop.

For anyone curious about what he's talking about (and until someone posts a better screenie), head to the very northeast corner of Mineral Springs (southern shiverpeaks) and wander into the caves there.

It might make no sense, but it's the EXACT SAME model as the magical beacons of the Frost Gate. So... it's a beacon. As Exoudeous said, the caves may have not always been there, or they might have another use. They are fallen over on their side so maybe the Stone Summit stole and hid them to cripple the Deldrimore navigation, who knows.. but they are beacons, and they are magic.

Well, you apparently didn't read what I said about the beacons in the upper picture being lit with flames and the ones in the cave have those bubbly orb thingies. But Meh... whatever.

What happens when you light all the storm beacons in the mission?
Does the big one in the center sparkle?
I honestly cannot remember that long ago.

This cave also has a statue of Lyssa, the patroness of mesmers. So it could just be something placed there by her worshipers to mess with travelers.
