Actually, despite the skill names, Grenth is the only god that doesn't give something to Dervishes. Scythe is Balthazar, Earth Melandru, Mysticism Lyssa, and Wind is... Dwayna. A bit weird with all the scythe imagery and Grenth-related skill names, I know, but there you go.
I would disagree with that. I think that the scythe is partly from Balthazar and partly from Grenth. It's a martial weapon, which indicates that it's from Balthazar. But the scythe is associated with the grim reaper, death and therefore with Grenth.

Dervishes could have gone with any martial weapon for their link to Balthazar, but went for scythes for a link to Grenth as well.

Indeed. I think Dervishes are supposed to be like Elementalists - worshipping all gods equally as a profession, although individuals might worship one or two especially.

It's just that it happens that all of the other god shrines boost one of the Dervish attributes, while a Grenth statue doesn't offer anything specifically for the Dervish.

That said, from my memory of the lore, the implication is that the Dervishes use scythes because it's a weapon of the peasantry (at the risk of muddying the waters, have you read Mort? Scythe for the common folk, the nobility get the sword...) rather than because of any death-related imagery - Grenth doesn't actually seem to have any special connection to scythes. Instead, their choice of weapon is more of an affirmation of their humility and (supposedly) humble beginnings.

Default Grenth And Abaddon

I think that Grenth although cool is not all that. what i mean is he became god of death be defeating Dhuum, and became god of water when Abaddon was imprisoned.

Abaddon was probably the smartest out of all the rest. I mean he orchestrated all the major events in the Games exept for GW:EN. Plus the others gods didn't do much of anything to stop him.

Made a slight alteration. It's not impossible that the release of the Destroyers and the awakening of the dragons and so on was some sort of deadman switch from Abaddon.

And the Charr storyline is known to be a result of Abaddon's scheming - without which the Charr would still be bottled up north of the (intact) Wall.

Lyssa//Grenth. Both an equal amount.
IRL I'm a performer by trade, so Lyssa should be a no brainer.
Anyone hazard a guess why Grenth, as they tend to contradict?

Lyssa. My favorite character is Assassin but his secondary is Mesmer... Shadow Arts and Illusion go together pretty well.

Kinda seems like each character falls under a different god though.

Dwayna: Angels rock.
Melandru: Earth is peace, peace is bliss.
Lyssa: Hey, she's two. Everyone loves that.
Kormir: Nothing is so cool as truth... but she's a rookie.
Grenth: He has style... but he lacks the touch... well... he has a lot of touches, but he lacks the right ones.
Balthazar: I do like fire, but I don't like Bearded Warlike Guys.

Post Grenth all the way or abaddon or Dhuum

Grenth owns all the gods. Imagine being the lord of death, coming and going for dead bodies, slicing and dicing people that disrupt your mission. He is a great and fun god.
P.S the reason why fun is because of his skill,Avatar of grenth!
P.SS his skill is only for first prof is dervish.

Does anyone think for the bad guys? What about abaddon, he's cool and evil.

It's a tie between Grenth and Lyssa. The idea would be great but it might take some retooling of the classes to let them serve whatever god they choose. It'd be a great replacement for the Luxon/Kurzick set up.
