Area east of Runes of Sumeria
Is there anything in the lore about the runes you see to the east of the Runes of Sameria. There is the huge fire cracks in the ravine as well as the remains of the wall, many structures fallen down and what looks to be the remains of a city foundation.
---
I failed at vanquishing the area today and the area never looked so wrecked although beautifully at the same time. I suppose I never paid too much attention to it.
In any case, anyone got a suggestion on how to take out two Crawl monks.. they are giving me grief, I can vanquish the rest of the fronter without any problems.

I guess it could be the Tombs of Drascir, Ascalon's entrance to the rift. Other than that, who knows, we've only been told about a select few ascalonian cities, and we've visited most of the ones they've told us about.
As for the two monks, I found that a Mesmer (hero) with shatter enchantment, another enchantment removal, and some interrupts is pretty amazing versus them. Also against the Charr's Shield of Judgment. The rest of my team was formed from me, a high DPS Ranger, a WoH monk hero and an SF ele hero.

Is there a best armour/weapon thing in guild wars? like different sets

Armor On the right of this page there is a list of each profession and a link to view what the armor looks like.
Basic Armor
Armor Crafter
Best armor in GW can only be said of function,i.e. armor rating. Depending on which profession there is max armor level for each profession and an armor crafter that can craft it. Max armor can be crafted in prices from 1000g per piece + crafting material(called 1k armor) up to most prestige armor at 8000-15000g/piece + crafting material(called 15k armor). This depends on the profession. Now keep in mind that some materials required to craft armor can be very expensive. Plus the armor may require alot of that material to craft it. For example; Obsidian armor requires 105 to 120 globs of ectoplasm to craft for all 5 pieces. Depending on the market 1 glob of ectoplasm will go from 4000g to 5500g. But remember this. Max armor is max armor. No matter if one purchased the 1k max armor or the 15k max armor, it performs just the same with no added benefit. But the more expensive "prestige armor" looks better than the less expensive version. It's all about one's personal taste really.
Weapons are also similar. There is a range of damage on weapons with a max set for each kind. And max weapons can be gotten for free from collectors throughout all of Guild Wars. And compared to the very rare gold ones the perform no different. The difference between the 2 weapons is nothing more than "looks" or "skin"
Weapons

That depends on the person. But there are people with no more than a few thousand in gold all the way to multi-millionaires, maybe even billionaires. But no matter about that. A very rich person cannot have better functioning armor or weapons than than a less rich person. Dearest and Cheapest armor/weapons goes along with taste. But both can range from a few thousand to 1 million + in gold.

Gold
Skills, Consumables, keys, and really thats it. Upgrading your heros can count but that goes along with armor and weapons.

Thread of No Topic
This thread is for discussing small time topics of Guild Wars 2 and the Guild Wars Books. If a single topic gains 10+ posts only to that topic, I shall put it into a "Discussion of <topic>" thread of its own.
So if you have a small topic or discussion, just post here (and any new threads made that would fit here will just get merged).
Happy discussion!

LOL, didn't even notice this until Konig pointed it out.
I'm Mordakai (duh), and I like to watch Konig and GmrLeon duke it out in full-screen posts.

Hello everyone, I'm Mari, a fan of the Djinn and a lurker, pay no attention to the girl behind the curtain and I'm sure everything will go well.

Clearly, the Djinn are elemental servants of the Ancient Dragons that have been loose since the Dragons went into hibernation. Some have gone wild, viciously attacking any that threaten their freedom, while others drift about listlessly seeking a new master... while still others may continue to blindly follow the last instructions given to them by their creators.

Your joking aside, all that's really known on the Djinn is simply in the Nightfall Manuscripts. Looking at their behavior in game, or any dialogue of them in game, only supports what the Manuscripts say.
They are spirits with deep ties to nature (in Elona) and naturally reside in areas of high spiritual concentration. Eventually powerful wizards may bind some to a location to guard said location. Most places we see large djinn groups are situated near ruins and treasures (that is, those in Vabbi) which implies that they were bound to said areas. The biggest group and thus biggest binding of djinn is of course the Merchant Princes' vault and safe-house: The Hidden City of Ahdashim.
