All I know is that I've tried this twice and both times our healer dropped right as we got to the battle...

just keep at it is all i can say. some people managed it quickly, me and my boyfriend (due to back luck, bad groups and sometimes bad strategies) spent about 6 hours on wed night trying to do it. We did it first time today. Just keep on trying

We can get to the end everytime. I'm an enchanter and hubby is a Ranger, the rest are henchies. We don't do pug's do to well, bad luck, lol. Our classes work nice as we can snipe the mobs, so we have no problems at all...until we face the monk boss and priest.
We just can't seem to hit the priest harder than he's getting healed for and my interrupt spells just aren't doing the job. I KNOW there has to be a strategy for this guy but can't work it out. I've repec my attributes and flipped back and forth between air (for knock downs), then fire (for straight out damage). Tried focusing on the priest one time, then the boss another time, and then even both at once.
Would love to hear some advice from someone who has done it.
Thanks.

An oversimplified general tip is to bring along a full group of useful real live players who understand teamwork. Henchmen cannot cut it in this mission
A more specific answer to beat the last team with the healer boss is to be prepared to focus ALL fire on the Priest and possibly interrupt the Boss when he casts heal spells.
Some of your team will die so also be prepared for someone who can rez to high tail it out of there once the priest is down to recover your downed men.
You might get lucky, but chances are the Forgotten will chase you so the recovery has to be while some people are fighting.
The Ascension missions aren't impossible, they just require you to socialize.

I agree with that. We got lucky doing this. We attacked a last group of stragglers, but the boss and his buddies aggrod aswell. Then, the spawn began and all but our monk died. I dont know how he done it, but her managed to kill 3 mobs with the ghostly dude and was able to rez me ( warrior ) I hit shielding hands and tanked the boss and we where able to complete this.

I think you need a mesmer. I was doing the part of the mesmer in our group. When we got to the third trial, we first did the priest closest to the doors. Then we went to the left and did the named monk enemy.
Once we cleared the way, everyone focused on the monk. I threw down a Chaos Storm, then followed up with an assortment of energy draining spells and soon his energy was down to 0. He also casts these nasty enchantments that pretty much bring him back to half health from the brink of death, but that was easily taken care of by my shatter enchantment spell. He dropped like a sack of potatoes.

You are a Mesmer I presume, here are a few tips for beating that area.
1) Put points heavy into domination magic, and when the priest is about halfway dead (or 1/3 dead, whichever you see fit), use the Blackout skill on the boss. 5-6 seconds of no skill usage should be enough to see the priest die if your husband focus fires it while you Blackout the boss. An alternative would be to find a player monk with Pacifism, to the same effect.
2) Bring all of your interrupts (Power Spike, Power Drain, Leech Signet, etc etc) and have your husband focus on the priest while you focus on the boss, interrupting here and there as you go. I know you said you already did this, but did you bring all of them? Just checking.
3) Bring the Diversion skill and cast it on the boss repeatedly at the very beginning of the fight about 3-4 times, then maime the priest. The Diversion skill would make the bosses heals recharge in something like 40 extra seconds, ample time to knock off the priest.
You could have even bring all of the skills mentioned if you felt it wouldn't be overkill.
Hope these help!

Thanks guys.
Yeah Locust I was thinking we have to do a pick up group (ugh) so that people are using specific skills. So far we've made it everywhere with henchies (even Elona), so kind of frustrating that we may not be able to do it that way.
I'm thinking maybe 2 elementalist (fire for damage and air for knockdowns), a messmer (for energy drains), ranger, war, and monk.
Maybe we'll get lucky ><

Thanks Scorp, no I'm an elementalist. At first I went fire to nuke everything fast, but it wasn't ast enough. Then I went air and trying using some knockdown spells, but it just didn't seem to keep them from healing.
