Post Ascension
This may be a noob question and the answer may be in here somewhere but, what is the point of ascension? It took me over 20 tries to beat my mirror and when I finally did, it took me to Dragon's Lair or whatever that town's name is. I have to admit that I was a little disapointed when I was sent to another mission town. Am I missing the point of ascension? Any info regardless of spoiling is welcome.

There's really not much point about Ascension, Ascension doesn't really make you more powerful, it's just part of the roleplay storyline. How you, the choosen one, have to Ascend to achieve your destiny.
Beating your own mirror is not that hard, you'll just have to keep it simple. Think about how you going to trick the computer's AI. For example, i played a Mes/Ele character, I equiped 5 fire spells with long cast time, then i equiped mantra of flame and 2 other counter spells. This will trick the computer AI to use fire spells more often than counter spells, while i can just counter most of its action.
Finally, the dragon's lair. It's not the end, the bonus of that mission is to kill that dragon, Glint? It took me 3 tries to beat that mission, just remember...don't over estimate the healing power of monk, and under estimate the fighting power of other classes. You'll need bring 1 monk, 1-2 warriors, 1-2 elementist, at least 1 blood magic necromancer with well of blood, and lastly 1 mesmer just to control the facet's magics

Thanks lighblade, for shedding some light on the subject. I guess I was mislead on the reason for ascension after hearing some people in-game talking about how much more powerful they are after ascending. After hearing them, I was under the impression that it adds something to your character.
