Found a Place or Group of Enemies that drops Rare Stuff? Post here if u have! =D
Hi!
Just thought i would create a thread for us all to share places we have found to drop rare stuff more frequently than others. If you have found certain enemies drop good stuff you can also post them here!
I have found:
Witman's Folly (next to Droknar's Forge) is a good place for drops!
Thanks,
Xeph

I've actually gotten several purple drops and one gold drop while farming outside of Lion's Arch.
I haven't been lucky in many other places.

Basically it depends on the level of the monster. The higher the level, the better the drops. Just try it your self kill 100 level 1-10 monsters and you'll find all their drops are not max damage and salvageable armors are all minor runes and turn into 1 rare material 1 out of 10 times. COMPARED to level 20+ monsters, their drops are usually max damage and salvageable armors are mostly major and superior and turn into 2-3 rare materials 1 out of 3-4 times.
But the higher level monsters are harder so you can't solo. The best drops will be from the higher level monsters which are in south shiverpeaks, fire island, underworld and fissure.
This was very true before they nerfed flesh golems. But the same principle holds true for all the other monsters of the same level and higher, except they're all harder than flesh golems.

Gypsie Ettin's. Run from Beetletun to a little past the Ascalon Settlement to clean house on them.
Bring a skill that will disrupt their healing signet or else it's ALOT harder.

Completely agree with this one. I tried it myself, I saw a gold item drop, and about 3 purples on first run. I unlocked a few major runes. I have heard of Superior Vigor dropping here!

i've heard that there are 3 gold items in every zone, not sure about purple and blue...but that says to me that if you solo, without henchies, that you will get 3 golds and various other rares every time you clear a zone...this means that there is no special places for drops, they're everywhere
anyone experience this?

Hey, you were right about Witman's Folly... two minor runes, a major and a superior in about 25 minutes of Grawl farming.

*Waits for the inevitable nerf*
I've been using this spot for quite a while..and I have found that the best thing to do, is run the area until your fingers bleed..and keep your mouth shut about it to anyone who is not in your guild.
(Sometimes you have to be an ass. )

you guys know that the anet devs do read these board's, and if u guys say such and such place always drops gold for me, they will nerf it, better to keep your farming spot to yourself, seeming as many of u already have the same places listed over and over anyways...

Errr... yeah like they don't already know. You do realize that the mob/drop ratio is consistant with the rest of the areas in Tyria. The difference is that Grawl drop Grawl Gear and other salvageable armor more than regular items. Even blue salvageable armor has runes so it's not like this is anything different from anywhere else. Sorry, thought you may have been paying attention to all those Grawl in the early areas.
