just camp at the king.
the healers can protect him that way, and you will have the enemies slowly coming at ya in little groups. catapults a plus but not necessary.
cheers,
makk.

The second time we attempted it, our team decided to kill all the stuff around the boss then focus on him, but he just cleared us out. I think I'm going to give up on this mission, it's just not nice to get to the fort which is easy but time consuming, then spend 15 mins destroying waves of monsters then this boss comes and just screws the team over, he is too powerful, Glint was 3 levels higher and wasn't this much of a problem. Reading some posts in here, some people are like... "I don't remember this mission being hard..." etc. So I'm sure this mission must of been made harder or something, can anyone tell me if they have completed this mission in the past week? And how you did it? Thanks.

You can head out of the fort but they spawn all over the place - not just one spot we found out today.
Anyway we also tried to camp in the middle without catapults and got overwhelmed anyway. We focused on stuff and had no DP. So I would really like to hear from someone who has done it within the last day or so just to make sure its not a big change from last time I did it - cause before it really was easy.

That Perfect Armor boss is a serious pain, I agree- when I passed the mission (first time through, don't hate me too much) we came closest to failing when he arrived. Basically we did just what everyone else is talking about -kill his buddies, then go after him- but we lost some cohesion and focus in the battle, especially when a second (2 man, I think) wave showed up just as we were still trying to finish the Perfect Armor's friends off. Had at least 2, maybe even 3 or 4 guys go down during all that excitement, but what kept us going was I was able to draw aggro from that damn Perfect Armor, get him to beat away on me for awhile instead of our team. A little healer support, I think maybe a blood well on our location, and I was able to tie him up long enough for the rest of the team to rally, destroy his friends, and then finish him off.
After that we got a nice, well earned breather, and after all the chaos of deal with Mr Perfect and his mob, the rest was absurdly easy. I do agree though, for all the talent and coordination our team had, we came damn close to losing it right there. That boss is a real dirty rat bastard, no way around it. Although, with a solid anti-melee mesmer, I could see him going down pretty easy.

My monk beat it on the first try last night. I joined the first pick-up group that invited me and off we went. I was extremely lucky to find such a good group so quickly. Everyone knew what they were doing (or followed orders correctly) and the warriors were very good tanks and did not have any trouble taking the blows of the Mursaat Boss. We had I think two or three warriors, a couple of elementalists, something, a monk (me), and Lina. Our group killed very fast which helped a ton.
The only worrisome part of the mission was actually my fault. The Mursaat boss came and one of our strong warriors was tanking solo no problem (with the help of my healing). But somehow a Jade Bow slipped by the group (we were everywhere I still don't remember how this happened) and it started wailing on the poor king. I started running over to the king as fast as I could. I barely got off some healing spells and kept him alive as he was down to about 5-10% health. But I should have started running a lot sooner than I did. I was too busy focusing on the warrior who was fighting the boss.

Compliments to the author of the post.. Those are some great ideas!
I did this mission on my 2nd try last night, and as he said, organization is key.
Like he said, we had an ele on one catapult and a ranger on the other. This is important because you can actually take out enemies before they reach you if you are constantly operating the catapults.
I've noticed th at some people have suggested staying right up there with the king, but I think it's much easier if you stay on the main battlefield. What our group did was stay directly in the middle of it, with a monk on West side and a monk on East side. Once we saw a group approaching (and signaled its approach with plenty of clicking and arrows), our entire group would go to that side except for the catapulter on the other side, and the monk on the other side (unless the upcoming battle looked deadly, in which case the monk would come over).
Needless to say, our King was never even touched. We suffered one death, but that was because one of our warriors decided to go off by himself to take on a group.
Really, all you need is communication, organization, and patience.. Then the mission is easy. Plan out what you want to do, and do it.

Finally got it last night as well. The key seemed to have people on the catapults constantly firing and knowing what they were doing as well as the rest of the folks focusing fire on the bosses as they came. We never say the Perfect Armour this time, but did run into a Mursaat Monk boss that was really hard to take down. We killed all the minons first then focused on it. We did this right in the gate so the ele on the catapult to help. This go around was much easier than any other I had tried on the weekend, even though the group was kind of disfunctional at first. Anyway there seems to be some luck involved as the bosses you get in the fort are somewhat random and that matters a bunch as well.

Did the mission again today and all went fine, just had to ignore the "uber warrior" who was spamming everyone to get into the middle whereas this is the most dumb thing you can do. He also insisted on leaving the catapults alone and was bodyblocking people from using them... he though they would make the mission harder :wallbash:

After six failed attempts I finally succeded in this mission. I (a Blood Necro) manned one set of catapults and our Ele nuker took the other.
We hammered the incoming baddies with the catapults and pingged the map when the baddies were close to making it through.
Then I switched to Shadow Strike, and Vampiric Gaze and hammered the baddies from above, while the warriors worked below.
We worked out this plan PLUS A EMERGENCY BACKUP PLAN. "Ping the King" = "Drop what you're doing and come to the King, NOW!" We used it for the Mursaat Boss.
We had one real monk, and he worked HIS ASS OFF! When the Mursaat Monk Boss came, we lost 5 players, including me. The two remaining warriors buckeled down and kept the baddies busy and the monk rez'd us all and we rallyed to kill him.
I never saw a "Perfect Armor" boss. Never. Killed the Mursaat Monk Boss, and a 'Confessor'.
The Mursaat Boss Monk seems to have a special skill. We could never take his last health point. We got him down to nothing several times, but no warrior, necro, or ele could take the last point from him. Is this a Monk spell I don't know about?
The secret to the mission is TEAMWORK.

This mission is very easy. It becomes hard when you rely on PUGs. My girlfriend and I did it with just henchies. She's a necro and I'm an ele. We just camped near the king, following him if he moved slightly, we just waited for the enemies to come to us before attacking.... I think this is one of the easiest missions, after it appeared to be one of the hardest when in PUGs.

The NEW bonus description is more accurate: if you light them, you get EXTRA enemies.

Well, I just finished this mission with a group consisting of:
Myself (E/Mo) Water/Healing
W/E Earth Tank
N/R
R/?
Mhenlo, Lina, Devona and Thom.
As many people here have been saying, holding the top of the fort, near the king made it quite easy.
The enemies arrived in groups of never more than 3, and we beat them very easily.
The hardest bit was when Perfect Cloak arrived, and out warrior decided to attack something else instead, but we ended up beating him. And after that, it was a cakewalk.
We killed Dorian and his friends while they were still outside.
The only other stumbling point was that the final two seekers kept running away, so eventually we went outside and hunted them down.
After so much trouble with other PUGs, trying to focus on the Balistas, and trying to stop the enemies getting into the fort, fighting a war on two fronts, it was so much easier this way!

Yep. Easiest way to beat this mission is to ignore the gates. Ignore the catapults (Unless there's no red dots inside of the fort, and won't be for awhile), and just camp up near the king. I did it easily with just henchmen healers. My second try was even easier, because Dorian got caught up against a wall where he could take catapult damage. :P There's only 4 areas to get to the top there, and they're all bottlenecks where AoE spells work great. And as Spiritofcat said, only two or three come at a time.

Focus fire. Its really that simple.

Yeah i dont' get what you mean about not doing the bonus..All you have to do is light the beacons (2) in the fort (where you want to stay insdie of anyway) within 30 seconds of eachother. It's a joke. How do you die attempting the bonus?

We did this everytime we succed the mission, we light them ( Mursaat ), but they still enter ( Mursaat ) . So no Bonus. 1 time we reach Fort and killed first down the BOss and went THRU Portal ( right one ), we killed the JADE Armors, but something we did wrong The Kind died.
I guess this Mission is a bit buggy if we talk about the Bonus ???

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.. no.. no..
I've tried this with hench a few times tonight. It was absolutely NO PROB with my monk or my ele .. but with my W/Mo I've just been having the most awful time with it. Then I just get frustrated find a group and then the usual garbage occurs despite me trying to keep order.
I really just am not sure what to do. I get to the very end every time and that boss and mob just strikes me down after I can't kill them.
Man.. It's brutal. Definitely not trying again tonight :P
