The Artisans.
I'm having difficulty procuring fur squares for my Ranger's set of armor.
As such, I need an Artisan that can presumably at some low cost in gold, produce the fur squares from raw hide squares.
Atrisan Rudger near Yaks' Bend is useful, but doesn't help. Neither does Artisan Daved near the Sardelac Sanitarium.
And these are the only artisans I know of.
The location of other craft artisans would be wonderful. Just an approximate location, or a quest whereby I can locate him, and from what NPC to obtain the quest.

The easiest way to get fur squares is to go out and hunt charr around piken square and such for charr hides. When you have 4 you can trade them in Ascalon City to Callisa Sedgewick for 1 fur square.

Okay, cool. I'll definitely do that, sounds like about the best way to come up with what I need.
But what about other artisans? Anyone know of any?

I have to say I've learned something here...
Lesson 1 - before being an idiot and paying 700 gold for 1 fur Square, come and check these forums for the answer.
I have all these Charr Hides and I never knew what to do with them. I know people were buying & selling them, so I just hoarded all I got. Never knew why they were so saught after tho. Silly me, I should have asked..
and to think I pain 685 gold to get 1 fur square for crafting my Ascalon Boots for my warrior.. when I had enough charr hides to get the fur from the collector. duh.. And silly me for not checking the collector npc's well enough. LOL
Well as they say.. a fool and his gold are soon parted. LOL!

Never will I sell/salvage another Charr hide.
I tell you what, half what you learn from this stuff is what to keep.

It's great fun to put on smiting skills at level 20 and go pull the lever at Nolani Academy and watch the Charr kill themselves and give you their hides.

Actually, as a Mo/E, I replaced my smiting skills totally with AoE fire spells.
I tell ya, it pwns up on Charr, and I'm only lvl 13. I can take on the biggest, baddest mobs of Charr. I only sacrifice a little healing ability for it, you should try that type of build.
I'll have to post about it... Mo/E with Air spells is better for PvP, BTW.

But fire's casting time is slow. There are not that many charr enemies that will bother your smiting enchants and that makes for very effortless killing. I stand there and cast healing breeze or orison when I think about it and the Charr fall at my feet to give me their hides.

I still say that the Elementalist fire skills are better for killing more enemies faster.
More mana cost, but you can just wear tats for that. I prefer them, it's playing to the strength of the Elementalist subclass, and it works for me.
Especially in party support.
When my party goes down, I need to be able to get back to them and rez them. That means I need some sort of offensive capability, and the fire skills provide that. Thanks to the fire spells, I've brought six or seven mission parties back right from the brink.

Yes, but I am talking about completely soloing them. I can do it with fire too, but I much prefer shield of judgement and for it to be effective enough, I need to invest in smiting. So, I smite for most solo farming expeditions. Suffice it to say that I am well aware that it can be done (and am able to do it) with fire, but I prefer to do it with smiting.

Ah. Well, for the sake of party work, I've invested in Fire at the cost of Smiting.
I wanted to specialize, and smiting looked as if it could be replaced too easily by Fire spells.
I think I was right to do that, for the sake of my party work. I party more than I solo.

That's what refund points are for. They are easily earned. I smite only when I solo.

Back on topic, now...
Has a map yet been created that featured the Artisan's locations?
