Default UW solo build: clever nerf or the fun is gone?

While Prot Bond was undoubtedly too powerful, the current build for UW (Prot Spirit and the rest of the stuff) can't guarantee hours of relaxing farming. Don't misunderstand me, it's working perfectly, but now you have to time your spells more carefully, because the chance of Prot Spirit being interrupted twice or more is always present, especially in the first part of UW (ataxes and grasping darknesses).
Not to mention now you won't be able to kill the Coldfires together with the smites: you'll have to study how the patrol moves and aggro the right group, with little if no room for mistake.
The necro item is now a must, since at 55 life you get the same dmg you suffered when you were a 105 monk wih prot bond un-nerfed.

UW is still a very good place to farm, but the whole work now takes some serious effort. Everything will go ok 90% of the times, but now farming won't be as relaxing as it was before. For example, I can't listen to Winamp while doing the UW cause I need to hear the "clickety sound" when prot spirit gets interrupted, and now aggroing more mobs than strictly necessary can lead to interesting results - like you wasting 1k and starting over.

Now, probably some of you will answer something like "maybe your build sucks and you find UW difficult", so I'll prevent all the smartasses: playing carefully will allow you to clean the uw (ataxes, grasping darknesses and smites) as before, let's say, 99% of the times, but it'll take you A LOT more in terms of time and effort. You recast Prot Spirit a bit too late, it gets interrupted, you recast it again, gets interruped once more, and then you'll barely have the time to say ktnxbye before grasping darknesses/ataxes smack the painful hell out of you.

In conclusion, maybe this nerf did re-balance things without depriving farmers of their fun, since it made farming more difficult, but still possible.

What do you guys think?

Well until the Summer Update (if you can still call it that, since it's coming in september) comes out, the Underworld will be the high level PvE area in Guild Wars. So it should be challenging for players and not a relaxing pasttime to get more items.

So all in all, I'm quite happy with the nerf..

I think you should get a couple of people together instead of soloing. I don't think they oppose farming, they just oppose something that makes it so simple to farm with. Before protective bond was "fixed", people did not really pay attention to w/e they were doing. They just got the build off forums like this one and spam spells like idiots.

Guild Wars was always about skill, not who can spam the most skills in 1 second. The fix they implemented reflects that. Now you actually have to time your skills.

People always expect to get stuff with no effort. That is what bothers me. UW is one of the hardest PVE areas, and being able to solo it should not be a walk in the park. Why do you think they cap the level at 20? So there still will be a challenge when you have your multitude of experience points. It also means you can't slaughter everything in one hit expecting to get drops.
