When I ascended I don't recall being dropped off at Droknar. I fought my way there by picking up 7 (or was it 5?) henchies and fighting tooth and nail for every inch on that map.

Edit: Oops, sorry, I was thinking of the Citadel

Hoestly, the Droknar's run is the only run I don't disagree with out of hand.

I had my second character run to Droknar's Forge purely out of interest. I wanted to know why everyone was so excited about having been there.

I am not lazy, not at all, in fact, I ran my W/Mo from Piken Square, through Yak's Bend and straight on to Kryta and Lion's Arch. When I reached there, people were talking about Droknar's Forge as if it were some sort of Mount Olympus, so I went back to Beacon's Perch and got a runner.

I managed to reach lvl14 without doing the missions this way. I am now doing the missions though, as I need iron ingots for armours.

These are just the musings of a sad, sad toe so feel free to flame them if you wish.

You mean you went to to the granite citidal for the 15 k armor that and Grotto is where yu get 15 k armor from and the collectors have only one set for Monks it is the Wanderers if you want to go around and collect all that is needed.

For elementalists, crafters at Citadel only craft Pyromancer and Hydromancer 15k armor. If you want Geomancer or Aeromancer armor, you need to go to Grotto. I did not know this so I traveled (was not run) from forge to Citadel and found out what I wanted was not there. So then I went and got infused and hiked to Grotto... I have no idea about collectors but I did not want collector style armor... I wanted the redesigned armor.
