How many ele's need +5 energy when they have access to Energy Storage?
Need we discuss +5 armor > +30hp again?
Like has been said MANY times already, Most of the green items are perfect or near perfect for some specific builds, but definately not across the board.
Oh, and PLEASE tell me how many people will be trampling each other to get Wroth's Holy Rod?

yeah yeah i know +5 armor is better. but look at the price of it. would +5 armor mod cost the same as +30 health mod? one +30 health mod costs arnd 40k. one +5 armor mod costs around 2k.
this is because the rarity of +30 health mod is high, and on that particular green item there are 2 perfect ones on them, so u think thats the way it should be? get those perfect mods so easily?

Green items aren't ruining the economy. They are decent weapons that are uncommonly dropped. If you have tons of money, there are still plenty of gold items that you can buy and sell. For example look at this thread.

I'm willing to guess most people who feel they are broke in the game are tasting what it is like to be in a system where your not supported by anyone else. And further, how do people have no money if they farm for uber items? The gold and the loot you sell to npc's alone should be enough.
Money management people. Your not taking care of your gold, it's taking care of itself. And gold is just like rl money, it wants to be separated from you.
I have 50 plat so far after two months. I'm not rich by any means, just financially free. I didn't farm, I didn't do any market trading. I played the game, did the missions, and didn't buy the next upgrade in armor the minute I arrived at a town that had it.
I got my armor from collectors which cost 0 gold. I get as many skills as possible from the quests, to save skill points and gold. I got my weapons from drops, another 0 gold. Picking up everything that drops in missions is huge too.
Not to mention, every mission from Kryta on is about 1k in plat. And some missions your gonna do over because of difficulty, or a bad group, or mistakes. Heck, the other night I did thunderhead 6 times before our group pulled it off, and with all the loot and gold, there was about 9k more in my bank.
And all I did was have fun and play the game. And manage my money.
Stop worrying about gold and items and trying to be rich. Find some friends and go have fun bashing stuff or people. PvE in any MMO is always about the camraderie and fun of going things together as a group. It's like anything, it's not just what your doing, it's who your doing it with.
I know this reply won't turn a light on, and everyone will suddenly wake up and realize they control their money supply, not Anet. But it won't happen. No biggie, while you guys and gals are blaming the economy, I'll be playing the game and not having to worry about gold cause I know the secret to MMO happiness.
On a side note whoever said why farm for a 15/50 gold item when you can get one for free in pvp, is that correct? I thought you had to unlock it, and even when you do it only unlocks what you got so far, not the max.
I can only use a +20 health hale because I haven't unlocked the 30 yet.

Arturo has it right on the money.
If you actually PLAY the game (pvE that is) you sould EASILLY get between 15-20K in gold byt the time you finish. That isn't counting selling any nice weapons you might find along the way.
When I first started out, I slavaged everything, not really knowing that it is actually THE SMARTEST thing to do. Those early weapons in pre seraring and in the first few maps that get you 2-5 gold can garner you mulitple mataerials, that sell for much more to players hwo are lawyas looking.
Granted that market has gone WAY down hill the past few days, but I have to think it will rebound ot settle down again soon. You just have to know what kind of salvages you are going to get. If you know you wil get 8-12 wood from the bow and the merchant is only offering 40 gold for it, salvage it. Wood is generally 8 gold per, but most guys know enough to use the wood to make parchment, that even now that it has dropped is worth at least 80, and most assuredly 100 gold per can stil be gotten.
You dont HAVE to famr t make money. Especially farming for rare weapons t sell. I famred the griffons and got nothing but wings. But I could get 3-4 hundred wings in 5-6 hours of farning, that is 10K alone, and any other weapons or rare weapons was all gravy.
Depending on how much time per day you have to lay the game, you could buy any perfect upgrade(100K) after about 20-25 hours I would guess. That is assuming you only got modest drops and wings.
Now you can probably farm the chests. Obviously you have to buy the keys, although they do drop, but not very often. But for 700 you have a 50/50 chance of getting something you cansalvage and sell for a deent price. Even if the market gets flooded the demand wil be there.
Gold is FAR AND AWAY better weaponry, especially when it comes to staffs. I have yet to see a green staf with both faster cast and fast recharge for ALL skills, and still have 2 perfect UPGRADES. BIG difference between MODS and UPGRADES. 15% >50 is a MOD, +30 HP is an UPGRADE. Before people start arguing about how much better green is than gold they should understand that.
Also as far as I know they ALL require a 9 in whatever attribute they are focused on. So right there that eliminates bows. Most ranger primaries, and especially ranger secondaries want a bow with a 8 req, that gives them a lot more attribute points to put elsewhere. Similar with other classes, but with rangers and their diversity basically any other skill they have is important, so those extra points elsewhere most definately outweigh the couple extra points of damage a 9 versus an 8 will supply.
Grrens are perfect collector weapons. They are not all that rare, but they are also not all that plentiful either. They have some value, just imited value as they are as is. Same as buying a very nice hi requirement wepon. It has nice mods and nice upgrades, but you understand you have to sacrifice somethings to get all that, namely points you might like to spend elsewhere.
I will bet that once the fad has gone the golds will be right where they have always been. Probably a little cheaper because of the chests, but definately the best options, at least for those that have some money.
Which as stated isn't hard to get if you aren't getting rushed everywhere and PAYING for that. And when you get there you don't have enough money to do anything. So not only did you waste what little money you have, you wasted time when you could have ben making money doing waht you bought the game for in the first place ... PLAYING it.

touche'... and while +5 armor is underated, I am not thinking that it would be anyone's first choice to add two to the same staff.
If that staff was gold/upgradeable it would be worth a ton for sure, even with a 9 req.

+30 hp mods are far and away more expensive than +5 armor mods because-
:drumroll:
-people think that bigger numbers = stronger/better. Go to Lion's Arch D1 and ask, "Which is a better weapon upgrade for a caster, +30hp or +5armor?" and I guarentee you there will be a flood of people saying the +30hp.
Then again I actually like the misinfo people spread. It keeps the good mods cheap

I am a have not and am quitting the game. I see people selling items or asking for items I've never even seen. The inconsistent drops make me not just sick of this game they make me angry at it.
GuildWars is the most royal screw job I've ever seen. The person who said 80-90% of the people are the have nots are right.
And they are the people who are going to say SEE YA to GuildWars.
Like me I'm coming by here to blow off steam and say SEE YA...

So what's the future 'rich' man's weapon?
You do know pvp chars get perfect weapons right? So does that make them rich?
Does having millions of in-game gold make you think you're somehow better at the game than someone else? Not everyone likes to farm like you.
This game is about combat skills, not accumulating wealth.

Uh, dude, salvage the armor BEFORE you identify it. You'll get an unidentified rune. If it's a class rune, it'll say like "Monk Rune: Unidentified" or somesuch. If it just says "Rune" than it's a vigor. If it's a small tattered square graphic, it's a minor. Solid square, it's a major. Scroll with rolled sides, it's a superior. People will pay decent money for unID'd runes because they get the PvP unlock when they identify them themselves. Granted, most runes (like ranger and mesmer) won't go for much, but if you monitor the rune prices on the traders, you can make some decent cash. Last night the absolute CHEAPEST superior monk rune was 4.5 on the trader. I sold an unID'd superior monk rune for 8k, and out of curiosity, asked the guy what it was when he ID'd. It was a protection prayers rune, which he got unlock for, and those were going for 7k at the trader. He got his unlock, I got MORE sellback than the trader buy cost, when it would have sold at the trader for like, 50gp. Everyone's happy.

Every since the update I've getting a lot of Gold items but nobody seems to want them. I try to sell those items and they're pretty decent Gold items. I don't know what to do now.

First Green down the tubes?
I was just browsing through the trade forums.
There are atleast 3 threads in the Sell area that are trying to sell Flint's Fleshcleaver and have recieved no bids.
Now, obviously, Water Magic is one of the things that's rare in this game. But that a green item is already getting no bids shows something.
One thing I dont think anyone has counted on concerning the greens is the Off hands. While the weapons will probably decrease in price, the offhand items probably never will. So I would suggest getting them while you can at the current price.

I think this concern addressed itself... there are virtually no hydromancers these days, hence virtually no desire for a mediocre item like that.
A particular offhand to keep track of is the Rockmolder. It's the only item in the game with a 20% recast on ALL skills. I tested it and it does seem to be 20% of the time.

I have seen players offering 100k+ for the green swords, fire wands/staves, and green healing items.
If it fits into the Tanks, nukers, and monks it will be desired.
Thus Swords, Strength shields, healing wands/staves/offhands, fire wands/staves/offhands.

If there was a million or 2 then it's still the same principal for me. And what you said is an exaggeration.

I did quests in SF during the 5 pugs, we cleared out all the outter mobs (including the boses) and a total of 3 green where dropped. I do pug's all the time, it's a mixed bag of nuts but there not that bad as a whole. No where near refined as guild party, party with friends.
