hi,

i found few chests in SF which had quest items called tasca's items like axe, boots and so on...but i couldn't find the NPC that gives this quest. does any1 know where i can get this quest???

Hey, it's pretty simple to get to when you know where he is.

From the gate between SF and GF:

Go down into the main area, stick left towards the crushers, take a right down the cliffside, at the bottom of the hill, there's a small passage, where a boss is hiding, venture down that passage a little and you'll find him

The guy's name is Marshall Whitman. Also, just a note that you can only get this quest when you didn't bring one of the 4 quest characters (Killroy, Orozar, Alkar, or Galen) into SF; that means you go in normally.

Oh, so Whitman didn't die, then.

What about Tasca? He's supposed to have survived the occasional Whuumpus stampede (and likely killed them all because I haven't seen a single Whuumpus yet...)
