How to beat Mirror with primary Ranger...
I was a Ranger/Mo with a 14-27 +10% Armor Penetration bow (plus other stats)... Here's how I beat mirror (after finally figuring out how).
I had the following skills loaded:
-Capture Signet
-Capture Signet
-Capture Signet
- Useless Beast Skill
- Useless Beast Skill
- Throw Dirt
- Point Blank Shot
- Whirling Defense
First, for some reason the mirror doesnt want to use his bow, so he rushes you instead of sitting back and plucking away. So when you first get in, put up whirling defenses while you attack him with Point Blank Shot (Shortest Refresh Time I could Find with 3 for a +dam shot). Once Whirling Defenses goes down, u put throw dirt on them. This gives you approximately 20+ seconds until he can effectively strike you. Giving you a bit of a lead. Now he will probably use throw dirt and whirling defenses against you in the beginning (he did to me) but stick with it, theres a large refresh time on it, so he wont use it again basically. Just dominate him for as much of those 20 seconds you can, and then when whirling defenses come up again, use it again (I used it with 100 hlth left and he had less than 50). Easy...
So, basically
Fight Starts
Use Whirling Defenses (16 Secs with 9 Expertise)
Use Throw Dirt (11 Secs with 9 Expertise)
Keep using point blank shot the whole fight when it becomes avaliable
Use Whirling Defenses when it refreshes.
Dead Mirror
That's all... easy as hell when done right. Good Luck.

I used
-favarable winds.
-other random nature ritual i think it was win somet.
-savage shot-i think its called that, it stop that persons spell.
-bane signet-this is because i was monk secondary.
bane signet was good because when my mirror started to cast it i could use savge shot and that was wasted time but i was good because i could use it to knock it down!

well i beat my mirror self in 1:20 mins, the above techniques seem like a lot of work and going back and forth for no reason at all, while they might work for some skilled players, some others might have trouble with it, so here is what i used to kill the mirror dude.
skills you need to equip before you enter:
1-Power Shot
2-Savage Shot
3- Troll Unguent (you probably wont need it but just in case)
4- Meteor Shower (dealing 91 damage)
5- Aura Of Restoration
keep in mind im a R/E with LvL 15 Marksmanship and LvL 12 Fire Magic.
now to the fun part, before you activate the third glyph to open the portal, hit the "Aura Of Restoration" then enter, as soon as you enter, your mirror will begin to charge "Fire Storm" dont mind him, Begin to charge your "Meteor Shower" skill, when it goes off, he will keep falling down while you hit him left and right with your "Power Shot" and "Savage Shot" while you heal at the same time because "Aura Of Restoration" is giving you health points everytime you use magic.
and there he dies helplessly without even draining 25% of your health.
i hope this is useful for any of you rangers outthere.
cheers

I started with ignite arrows and frenzy, then shot him while he was preparing his ignite arrows and spirit of favorable winds (which helps us both do +6 dmg), then I get the damage lead instantly, after that he started casting trol lungent, which i used a bow interrupt skill to counter, then just continually fire til' he's dead, always interrupting troll ungent. It was still a hard fight, walked away with 20 hp's, which means that one more shot from him would have killed me on the spot... fun stuff!

heres what i had:
All of my big bow attacks(power shot, penetrating shot, etc)
throw dirt
SoC as space fillers
i also just happened to have a dragon sword as my secondary because i like to whip it out and show it to people in game.
the match went like this - he charges at me and we both use throw dirt. he switches to the sword and then cannot use any bow attacks. i pummel him with my bow and he dies in about 30 seconds.
i was really suprised when this happened, but then i started laughing like crazy. so remember, always carry around your handy dragon sword - you never know when you might need it!

Like I said in the other mirror thread
My tactic with my Ranger /Necro
4 pet skills, doesn't matter which ones as there won't be a pet.
2 necro sacrifice your HP skills
1 ranger spirit (winter in my case)
1 storm chaser
- start the storm chaser right before you enter and skip the cutscene
- run up the ramp to near the top
- rain arrows down on your mirror, you have the high ground thus your avg arrow dmg tends to be higher and you have a better chance of a critical hit
I used my first attempt to gauge how my mirror would come at me, if he'd come close and then hack at me, or stick to ranger. He stuck to range and I almost won without trying (would have if I had taken more high ground). My second attempt I went further up and rained arrows upon him, only to have him commit suicide just as I launched my last arrow when he sacrificed 20% of his HP (leaving him with like 5) for a useless effect

I went in with all my regular skills equipped and killed him in 35 seconds or so. Even forgot to unequip heal other, rendering one slot completely useless.
- Distracting Shot
- Concussion Shot
- Heal Other
- Healing Breeze
- Rebirth
- Favorable Winds
- Precision Shot
- Balthazar's Aura
He spun up Favorable Winds. While he was doing that, I hit once with Precision shot, got one more arrow in, then hit Healing Breeze. At that point he started shooting arrows at me. He continued to fire and so did I. He tried to interrupt me with Distracting Shot when I hit Precision Shot, but it fires too fast and he wasted a shot (his shot only did 10ish damage, just as the skill says.) At that point I just kept firing, with the help of his Favorable Winds spirit and killed him. I had about 40% life left when he died.

How I beat mine with my R/Me
Distracting Shot
Penetrating Attack/Point Blank Shot
blank
blank
Natural Ritual
Natural Ritual
Natural Ritual
Natural Ritual
Right in the beginning, start pelting him with Penetrating or Point Blank as he attempts to cast Natural Rituals. It will take him about 25 seconds to finish with them, by which point, he'll almost be dead. When he starts firing back at you, interupt his Penetrating/Point Blank using Distracting Shot and then continue to pelt him with arrows. It's incredibly easy to complete the mission and the bonus in this way.

I basically did this but added apply poison. Cast Apply Poison right before you step on the 3rd stone to fight the mirror, he'll be down to 2/10's health by the time he's done casting all the Rituals.

My Mirror Was A Pain
Okay... So turns out my defense completely sucks as a ranger. My mirror was hitting me for a smiting skill for -56. The highest I've ever been able to get it is -76, but that was on UNDEAD... normal foes, I'd be lucky to hit for -40.
So with a little bit of luck, a little bit of reading this forum, and a whole lot of frustration, this is how I beat my R/Mo Mirror:
Profession: Ranger/Monk
- Expertise - 9
- Marksmanship - 11
- Healing Prayers - 8
Equipped Items:
Whirling Defense
Throw Dirt
Hunter's Shot
Power Shot
Healing Breeze
Alright.. for strategy:
Exactly when you enter, hit throw dirt, as it will already/most likely be placed on you. As soon as your mirror is blinded run to the high ground, and use Healing Breeze.
Attack once with no skill - If you see -11(whirling defense), dont attack for a few seconds. Focus on putting up your own Whirling Defense and Healing Beeze (use Throw Dirt if it becomes open again, but it most likely will not be recharged yet).
As soon as they put down their Whirling Defense, use Power Shot as soon as it refreshes. Every time you -need- an attack but are low on energy, use Hunter's Shot. It is not as strong as Power Shot, but is pretty close.
Also remember that every time you allow your energy to reach more than 10 to use Healing Breeze for good measure (Always heal yourself with HB aside from Whirling Defense, since your mirror CANNOT mimic this skill, deaming it useless for them in battle).
Remember to HEAL when your opponent has Whirling Defense up (will not last very long but takes a while to recharge).
If you are lucky (took me a few tries, but thats before I got smart and realized I needed to focus on defense when they had whirling defense up. Dont forget your Throw Dirt!)
I also brought along Dust Trap, an extremely energy costly skill. Also considering the fact that my Wilderness Survival attribute points are basically nonexistant, it makes the damage on the thing minimal (if you bring this you might want to make sure your wilderness survival points are very low too). I had two useless beast mastery skills. All three of these I brought in hopes of "tricking" my mirror into using them. Not sure if she tried it or not as I was desperately trying to stay alive, but as long as you dont click them and waste energy, it wont make any bit of difference.
Anyway.. Good luck ascending!

This works great. Defeated him way under the 50 secs for the bonus. I was a lvl 17 R/Me with a maxed dmg bow w/ misc attributes on it.

Just to let you guys know, you don't need to fill spaces in your skill bar with capture signets to get an empty slot there. If you open your skill window and drag the skills out of your skillbar, they will disappear, giving you an empty slot! With capture signets so expensive, just looking to save people a little cash.
With my ranger, I went for a simple and effective route of taking only troll ungeunt and distracting shot. I kept troll on myself and distracted her whenever she tried to use it. Also, get in the mirror's face with your bow...that axe doesn't do nearly as much damage as the bow, I've noticed.
