Just to add to that, I've had no trouble in SF using Maelstrom. It interrupts rez and orison, among other things, just fine for me.

Seems Anet's trying to promote water elems and hammer warriors, builds which aren't too popular.
Still, it's a lame way to do it by allowing monsters to bypass the rules of the game.

Well there are games that have incredible AI. So instead of trying to optimize it, one should go the old MMORPG way of just multipling every mob stat by 10 and call it a boss, and by 100 and call it raid content?

Its said that all the subtle (and useless) skills like interrupts are "towned down", even though you cant farm with interrupts. Maelstorm, Meteor Shower and "Master Gear" work fine though. So much for skill-based pve. Diversion and interrupts are the last things that were owerpowered in pve. Who on earth farmed with distracting shot???? Who on earth needs an ranger, necro or mesmer for a 3 or 4 man SF team (that kills faster then everything a 8 man team can do ever)? Maybe its a bug, but its kind of funny that the skills that require player skill are actually less efficient then just bruteforcing

they have 2 copies of the orison, cheating? yes. :P if you disrupt them both or hit them with diversion they will cease casting.
also.. in regards to flame djinn's. diversion and disrupts on consuming flames won't do much good unless you get flourish (which they use.. which completely made your extra recharge time useless by recharging it instantly)

Actually I read on one of the threads, somebody apparently diverted Flourish but the Djinn continued to cast Consuming Flames. Seems he doesn't need Flourish for Consuming Flames but just uses it anyway. Weird.
