Need help with ascending with my R/mo...
I have been having a bit of troubles defeating the Doppelganger...
Can someone suggest a set of skills, that would bring me past the Doppelganger, it would make me very happy...
The problem is, that the doppelganger damages twice what I do, and it is no help to go close to him, cause he damages about 40 dmg pr. hit with his axe too..
Please, can anyone tell me how to set my skills to defeat him..

The general advice is to bring along all the spirit skills you can, then attack him with the one attack skill you brought while he's casting them all. Haven't tried this myself.
When I was doing it I didn't change my skill set because I was just seeing what he was like before trying it for real. My skill set was;
Kindle Arrows, Troll Unguent, Distracting Shot, Penetrating Attack, Healing Wind, Resurrect, Throw Dirt, Apply Poison.
Battle started:
*I ran up to him while he was using Apply poison.
*We both used Throw Dirt, then he switched to his axe because I was in melee range.
*I used Troll Unguent because he'd managed to poison me, then activated Apply Poison as the blindness was wearing off.
*I started using Penetrating Attack on him repeatedly, poisoning him obviously.
*He tried to use Healing Spring, but my attacks interrupted him.
*Skills 3 and 4 were no good to him as he wasn't using a bow. I used Distracting Shot to stop him using Troll unguent.
*He used Kindle Arrows, which had no effect on his attacks except to stop them poisoning me.
All in all I think the fight took somewhere between 1 and 2 minutes. Just make sure to try to keep Troll Unguent up as much as possible. It'd also probably make matters easier if you brought another bow skill instead of Apply Poison, since it does help him too.
Oh, and all my Attribut points were spread between Expertise, Marksmanship and Wilderness Survival, about 10 in each including equipment/rune boosts.

Um, 31 I think. Whatever the druids set bumps you up to.
And you have to buy Kindle Arrows. It's at Grendich Courthouse, North of Nolani. It doesn't matter that much if you have it though, I didn't actually use it, as long as it's a skill that will benefit you and not the mirror when he's using the axe. Ignite Arrows or Read the Wind would work.

ok, i ascended my R/N last night within 45 seconds and here is what i did:
emptied out my entire skill bar and filled it up with nothing but nature rituals. my mirror spent more than half the battle casting the rituals while i just picked him off from a distance. the rituals he casts increases the damage of your shots, so he's just doing harm to himself.
btw, i also used a vampiric bow 4/-1, but could've also used my zealous bow.

I used mostly offensive arrow skills, distraction shot, troll ungent... Just run up to him as fast as you can with a quick bow, use troll ungent to heal, distract him when he's trying to heal.
It was alot easier than my monk, beat him the first time and didn't even need the spirit I equipped that he casted for me. Here is a movie of me beating the mirror using only ranger skills in about 30 seconds:

i too did it in about 45 seconds....
just put every nature ritual i had into my skill bar, didnt bring any attack skills, or healing skills... just nature rituals and stuff that would be useless to him...
he wasted the whole time casting the rituals, while i just stood there and unloaded with my max shortbow into him.

What about bringing pet skills? Granted he won't be trying to actually use them, since he'd have no pet...but that just means he's just hitting you. Or, bring Marksman's Wager...so he gets more energy to keep casting spirits. =P

Thanks for all the answers...
I thank you for your help guys..
I finished him in about 35 secs, using only arrow skills, and troll unguent.
I moved close to him, making him use axe, so that only I had use of the arrow skills, and then it was no problem..

After struggling through the desert missions with my r/mo and a team of henches, I thought the doppelganger was going to be another royal pain in the a$$. Figured I would give it a go with the same skills that I had just taken to Thirsty River, and get a feel for the mission before planning some strategy.
Had three beast mastery and five smiting skills (no elites) in the bar, with almost all of my points set in those two areas. Of course the cat didn't show, and I was standing there with a smiting wand in my hand facing a bowman.
Ran up to the thing and unloaded the smites on it and it folded up like a paper bag. Couldn't tell you the details, and couldn't quite believe it, but I'm not complaining.
