Now on paper...It doesn't seem like that big of a deal to do this effectively if you have a group with half a brain. Kill some Gaints for Morale beforehand to help, then kill off as much of a group as possibvle in about 1:30 and then go for the Priest..then finish off team. When you have 2-3 teams (the other arenas) just make sure you are only working on 1 of them and watch for the every 2 minutes thing...The enemies arent even the hardest enemies in the Desert..
So why is it such a problem for people. You get 1 of 3 things:
1) Group that has a warrior that just sprints past gaints, and rushes to the priests when arena part starts - so everyone basically gets owned because none of the enemy team is dead and their trying to rush into their ranks.
2) Group that doesn't even notice the clock and just trys to "own" everything..when it comes near time and you call the Priest..you look like an idiot fighting it by yourself as he revives the enemy team..and the cycle keep going til they own you.
3) Runner groups all over the outpost willing to fight the mission with their team for you for OUTRAGOUS sums of money they probably just thought up to see how much a person would pay.
By basic reason for this thread is:
1) How hard is the mission with Henchman (I'm a ranger mind you)?
2) Is their anyone that can help with the mission, i'm not asking to be run through it..Only to have a good team that knows what their doing..
This is the last of the three Ascending missions I need :\

I dunno about henching it with a ranger, but I walked through it quite easily with my mesmer, not a single one of the priests survived long enough to get a res off, not even the dual-healer tent.

To the OP:
Look me up in-game, I have helped my new guildies dozens of times. I love this mission, and actually hang out in Thirsty River taking people through it when I'm bored.
I'm usually on after 5:00PM Central Time.

it's not bad with henchies at all. since you already know the principles of beating it, it should go smoothly since henchies always attack called targets. interrupts work wonders in this mission. since you're an elem secondary, bring maelstrom and just pack ranger interrupts. the priests will be dead in no time.

I can help you also, I took Former Ruling and henchies as discussed earlier in the post and we cut through all the groups like butter. He missed the ranger skill cap, but otherwise it was a successful mission & bonus. Not sure what time I'll be on tonight, add me to your list and whisper me.

Heres a handy guide that I wrote a while back:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=71085
Incidentally, I was in a group last night that completed Thirsty River without any Warriors.
N/W (me)
Monk lvl 9
E/Me
E/Me
Necro Minion Master
Alesia
You can complete it with henchies if you play smart.

Well after several tries with PUGS and a couple with henchies, I ran into the best group I've ever seen tonight on this mission. We went through the thing
with nobody coming close to getting killed. The key is taking one team at a time like we did. All priests killed with plenty of time left, making the rest easy. Even got the bonus.

I just want to say that if I can rock this mission with an L18 dom/curses mes/nec and an all henchman team, you can do it to. Take on the groups one at a time, kill the guys outside, should take about a minute, then everyone runs in and targets the priest, then everything else. The only hard one in the last group with the priest and the healer boss and if you drop enough damage on the priest you can get ahead of the bosses word of healing. For me backfire was enough that I only had to outdo the boss for healing as my backfire negated the priests own healing. Drop a meteor storm on him or a maelstrom and you hsould be able to do similar.

I thought they fixed that problem. I know the henchies used to get stuck with attacking the healer boss instead of attacking the priest.
