Perdition Rock with Henchies
I've done this with my Ele in the past and it wasn't too hard, but I just cleared the place out with my W/Mo, and I died about 15 times. What gives? Not only did I die, but the whole party met their maker along with me. Have they changed things in the last 2 months? (the last time I was there, it was late September)
Before you reply/flame/whatever, I, and everyone else who reads this, does not need to know how you soled this at lvl 5 with you Mesmer, or how I'm some sort of noob...keep that amongst you and a friend..if you have one.

You are probably witnessing the power of an elementlaist. Wa/Mos don't kill very fast compared to a good nuker, and the henchies aren't great damage dealers, so unless you provide the killing speed they'll take way too much damage over the combat.

I've cleared Perdition with my ele as well as my ranger with henchies. I never found it to be a problem. *shrug* The above suggestion seems pretty likely though.

About the only thing I know of that changed was the addition of some phantoms to strip enchantments to cut down on solo farming. Oh, and they moved a chest.
But farming with henches is a lot harder as a tank than it is as a nuker. Nuker, you sit back, send in the henches, and toss meteor shower. You're not relying on the hench healers to keep you alive, unless things go badly. You're behind the line of action. But as a tank, you're more vulnerable.

Capped every skill as a w/mo just last month. Died a few times sure, but they could've been avoided had I not rushed things.

I've done it with a W/R, an E/Mo, and a Me/N. The warrior was definately the most difficult, both due to the lack of damage output, and the spotty healing that the henchies are subject to provide... especially when Alesia runs up to heal you and gets repeatedly bashed herself.

Remembering now...My secondary was Ranger and I brought Winter and Serpent's Quickness. Those two together in that area seems to really speed up the killing. But back to my W/Mo, we took on five Hydra, and I was dead in 20 sec., and the Drakes were no better for my health. Maybe I need to move around some more the get out of the way, and not depend solely on the Monks to keep me alive.

Well, the last two skill adjustments buffed several fire skills, including: Rodgort's Invocation, Incendiary Bonds, Meteor, Fireball, and Mark of Rodgort. Since Perdition Rock is very heavy on the fire damage, you're most likely feeling the impact of these buffs. Furthermore, I've noticed the logic for the flesh golem was improved a bit -- they no longer use the same hex on the same target again and again; they even raise minions now, which they didn't do earlier this spring.
Cheers,
Ix Chel

I did it with a W/E. Only died once for not running away from quad phoneix from a set of drakes.
What skills where you running?
And what henchmen did you bring?
I had all the heros (Mhenlo, Cynn, etc..) and Lina, Orion, Eve and Little Thorn if I remember correctly.
Did you let Lina cast protective spirit on you before rushing in?

This is perdition rock =)
But seriously, its just because you're probably not killing fast enough. The enemies are the same. Don't run a Pally build, if that's what youve been doing. And don't bring aidan.
