I think I might agree with above post about favor. I've noticed that there are times that people are getting good drops all over the place(SF, UW, FoW). Lots of people say that it is just luck. I believe that for the most part that it is just luck on what party member gets the drop, but the drop rate might be increased if we have favor or not.

I was doing FA with 8/8 and the minion master got 4 greens - Rago wand, handsmasher, razorstone, and stone staff and the rest of us got nothing so.. yeah. Its just pure randomized luck and mine sucks

Yeah it seems to me that monks get the majority of the drops, i dont know the algorythm they use for drop rate there, but it sure seems that way. I've gotten approx 13 or 14 green drops so far, among those at least 8 or 9 were on my monk, a couple on my warrior, my necro & my nuker ele.

I honestly don't think there is any increased drop rate for monks. I used to farm SF all the time with my monk and got just about as many greens as everyone else. I just got my necro strong enough to go down to SF and got 5 greens a couple hours or so including Rago's Flame Staff. That's more than I ever got in a week with my monk, so it's just luck...

Thats pretty funny, because my monk always get *nothing* and my necro always gets twice as many drops as the rest of the group put together...
Guess which one I usually try farming with....
This might just be because I have only made about 20-30 SF runs (haven't sone fa yet )
Anyway, I don't think the professions have much to do with anything. HOWEVER it MIGHT be how much damage you do. MM's do more damage than ANYONE else after they get an army going

It's clear that the drops are random.
I've done a couple hundred runs, mostly Final Assault, and mostly with the same group. While the drops do not appear random on any given run, or even within a short period of time, they do eventually even out.
I'm in a dry spell right now with only one green in the last 14 runs with my Monk. Typically the drop rates were higher, but I believe that they've lowered them quite a bit since Sorrow's Furnace farming season began a couple months ago. Someone said that the chance was 2% per person per boss. In my mind they're close to right, with the rate probably being in the 2-5% range.

It has not be substantially nerfed. I get 2 greens per run, and so far this streak has been 5 runs in a row with my MM (i got 4 on one run... ). You are simply, sorry to say, unlucky..

HA! You just cursed yourself. I said that very same thing before my streak, which went to 11 FA speed runs without a single green. Based on your numbers, I'll get 22 greens my next run.

Drago Flat Bow drop, with full hench group
This happened a week ago. For some reason, a lot of folks think that henchies negatively affect the drops. All I can say is, not in this case. This drop was worth 75K.

Drops
There was a discussion in War Camp about drops. Some say that its better to go out with live players instead of henchies because the drops are greater. I've done that and have seen where there are no drops. Their theory is that henchies will also get green drops, although they don't show up. Any truth to this or thoughts?
Thanks.....

There is an amount of truth in the statement that henchies do get drops (in my case usually about 95% ), but the real question would be, if you go out with a full henchmen team, rather than a full live player team, does it signifiagantly lower your chance of getting a green drop.
Personally, I think you have the same chance with either team, 1/8 chances in getting a green drop, but when you factor in the rate of an actual drop, that makes it even lower a chance you will get a green drop, or even see one for that matter.
What we must remember is that the game has cretian economics, mathematics, and physics of it's own, and we can't change that. Although we try so very hard to change the fact that we cannot simply send an email to ANet, and *poof*, problem solved, we can't, and that's the bottom line.

it's called COINCIDENCE. No class has a better drop rate than others for items. That's like saying having henchmen lowers your drop rate as compared to having people.

Since my last post, I had a set of 5 runs where I got a green on each run. Haven't gotten any since then, or before then.
I still don't think it's completely random - as much as I've been farming up there - I would have gotten a better distribution of greens than I have. I believe that it was intended to be random - but I think something's bugged in the random generation. Having built randomizers for a few programs, something definately seems odd about it - but at the same time, I have to admit that I don't have much data to go on.
This isn't a whine, just an observation. I have plenty of gold, so I don't really need more - and I have a blast farming and running the missions even without good drops - so I'm just gonna keep at it anyway.

My anti-green Curse has been lifted! Last night I got all three green drops on one run! And the only green on the following.
And no, drops are not random. As any programmer knows, they're pseudo-random.

As any really good programmer knows, pseudo-random is a long word other programmers use to sound smart, when all it means is that there is no way to create a totally random sequence from a machine. Aside from encrypters, nobody really cares if your sequence repeats every 10^25th times.

I think it's to do with work done, however that works out =P
As i've seen, an elementalist that does a huge ammount of damage gets the drop, or the monk that brought back the enite party back from the dead against large odds gets the drop.
Or maybe it's just random =)
