Well Hi i read all of this thread and i'm Lost

i started my monk/w for be a smiter but i'm lost in the Attributes , someone said that other person said x in divine or other said 0 divine etc :/ what would be the Best ? , and did you change your Attributes after Cast the spell of % dmg reduce? if jelly or other person could help me it would cool :P

No, if I take out the spirit I die. My protective spirit is what keeps me taking only 4 damage.
What I did do though was take out boon and replace it with Ether Renewal and that seems to be working well.
What's even better is if I take a friend who casts Mending and Balthazar's Spirit on me, then I can bring Aftershock and rebirth and have two more energy regen. If they also bring succor, I'm up to the normal energy regen, plus energy from being hit.
I know this thread is about soloing, but for me, duo is by far more worthwhile. As long as I can find a friend who will do those things for me.

lol i just checked the rune trader prices as of 2:46 am on American Servers:

Sup Healing: 65443
Sup Smiting: 45985
Sup Protection: 68878
Sup Divine: 44434

That means a full set for 105hp and at least 1 of each will run you $269174!!

If you have that much money why are you still farming???

The best part is I was doing Sanctum Cay and a Sup Protection run just fell on the ground with my name on it. I made more selling that than I ever did with an ecto!!

can someone please tell me exactly where or post a pic of the map of where the collector is for the protective icon with +1 prot prayers i spent the last 2 hours running around outside of lions arch looking for this fuker and i cant find him.

That's quite a lot of money.
My elementalist superior runes cost me less than 1k each and I can solo the UW almost as well as a monk. I did a full smite run today.

The +1 prot icon comes from the collector outside Bloodstone Fen.
Just go to Bloodstone Fen and step outside.
You'll need some Jungle Troll Tusks to buy it, but they're easily available from the Jungle Trolls just down the road.

what i dont understand is if i get 5 sup runes and use that item, im still at 135 hp. how did u get your hp to 105 with that +30hp item on you?

I honestly think ArenaNet will stop this somehow very soon, I am sooooo happy i got my superiors when i did, but not for the monk build shown here, for me being a more potent healer for people. What bothers me the most is i just want the female monk pants for my character, that would still cost me like 400k

you use a switch to a staff or rod/icon offhand.

i use mostly a sword, sometimes a smite rod.
couldn't even get a fissure farming group to nuke w/ tonight, so i went myself. not even worth the drops though! (especially not the crummy purple prot icon from the chest)

I done this build even before it was posted here but I think soloing fissure all the way up to the FoW armour is amazing, can you tell what al quests did you do? and how much time did it take you and how did you get past those skeleton messmers who shatter enchnts? I know easy way is to keep healing breeze on you all ties..thats what i do usually so they shatter breeze instead of my enchnts but if there are more then 2 messmers it kind of gets hard.

Stop what? Everyone is talking that this game is about skills. And when finally players start combining skills to build a good chr people are afraid its gonna be nerfed? That would cut out the heart of this game, so believe me, thats NOT gonna happen

Or did you mean the trading system where prices are growing with demand?

Wow, Monk superiors are rediculous in price now. I don't know if my monk will ever be able to do this now.
Luckily my elementalist can do it well, and I have a full set of armour with sup ele runes on it.
Tonight I bought 4 Superior Soul Reaping runes at about 800g each in preperation for when people find out how to do it with Necromancers.
My necro is only up to Nolani though, so I've got a while before I can try that.

Since it is clearly possible to do it with any class, I suggest you buy up a full set of the cheapest sup runes for your class now before it's too late

Anyone can just buy the runes and kill the Aaxte's and other critters.

But when it comes to dryders, grasping darknesses, and the shadow mesmers, and the ether bond breakers.

THAT takes skill to beat.
I've worked out a way to effectively tank all those without getting my bonds removed.
Yestaday, i was with a FoW group, only myself and another monk survived after some idiot lured 2 groups of skeletons on us. I managed to tank all of them, even against the mesmers, and the other monk ressed everyone else, so they would kill them.

Also another bit of skill involved is a solo smite run. I never kill the colds, i just try to avoid them altogether. I've worked out the routes of the colds, and i know where their blind spots are so i don't get detected. Your trying to tell me, that doesn't take skill?
If ANet nerfs this, they are really contradicting themselves.

BUT if Anet nerfs the drops, then yes, thats fine.
BUT not the actual build. Since the build = Skill.

Anyone who says this doesn't take skill. Then try to tank a group of skeletons, with 2 ether bond breakers. Then afterwards, try to kill them.
If you found that easy, come back here.

The drops in UW are already nerfed.
If you go and try soloing your way towards Galrath instead of soloing the UW you'll see what I mean. I usually have a full inventory by the time I reach Kessex Peak. Easily make 1 or 2k from a run like that.
UW? Far less drops. It only really pays off when you get Ecto.

As to further nurfing the UW, what if ANet decided to change the paths of the Coldfires so that you couldn't avoid them so easily?

Well for me, it doesn't seem nerfed. I usually get at least one ecto every 2 runs.
At best, 3 ecto in one run. The only cost i need to do is 1K per entering, which pays off if i get a single ecto. Mind you i store the ecto in bulk and sell them for 12K each, so thats more money to be made.

But i dont do many solo runs unless i need the money.

As for changing the paths, well i'm still confident ill beable to avoid them. The only way ANet could dent it, is for placing twice as many colds, or if the paths are random.
Twice as many colds will also increase the chance of the smites and colds fighting anyway. Since often when i enter the smite and cold area i see lots of smites. Then a minute later, only colds left.

Protective Bond will get nerfed....it wasn't supposed to work like this. Runes' prices will be normal again.
