In a the build I described a page back, I recommend the Furious Longsword of Enchanting (henge sword with mods). This keeps bonetti's charged and extends enchantments. Additionally, I think it is a benefit to do 1 dmg per hit because it allows you skills to kill the groups at the same time.

The Long Sword was there last night. It was the last item on the weapon crafter's list.
FYI, there is another collector's items that would help with the energy (but you can't add mods to it... from the collector's thread):

yeppers ... same shet happened to me ... I was video taping my run ...
here i am ... regular ole run ... blasting down the first pile ... zealots breeze and repeat through the second pile ... hell for the fun of it I grabbed all the remaining enemies and shot them down. killed everything in the chamber and still no doors. I got it all on fraps. Anet you owe me 20 mins of farming back ... to me that = 2 globs, 1 black dye, 2000 Gold. I will expect this in my account when I log on later today!

This has happened to me. A couple darkness spawn on the otherside of the left door (when facing the ghost you get the quest from) and you can't kill them with this build.

I'll add another confirmation to this. The time when it happened to me, there was one grasper who was stuck behind/within the door. I tried smiting him but it was hopeless, so I mapped out. :P

Yesterday was the farthest I've been yet. I got through the Obsidian Behemoths to the Undead area. This being my first time there, I didn't quite know what to expect. Imagine my dismay to discover the first monster you face there - the Banished Dream Knights (or something like that) - strip enchantments. They were kind of scattered around the landscape, so I'm thinking next time I might try weaving my way through them without fighting. I still haven't been able to take on the dryders; I think I may give miteethor's new build a go and see if I can do it with that.

Well I've tried it myself, and I can verify that it's possible.
Here is a screenshot of my skills and attributes:
I'm using the -50hp item from the Cities of Ascalon quest and no weapon.
The only problem is I don't deal much damage like this so it's very slow to get anywhere with it.
You may notice that this is effectively a universal build. Any primary profession could use it as long as they had monk as secondary.
The first 3 skills there are unimportant. You could replace them with something from your primary profession if it did more damage or helped manage your energy and health even better.

Know what might work alot better for you here. Take out protective spirit and use Ether Renewal. Then spam divine boon to gain health...energy..and do damage.

No way...you must have run out of energy and then prot bond went down. Once that goes down you are toast. Make sure you cast Balths Spirirt before the bond.

So how about telling us how you got past all the recasts of Natures Renewal by the Obsidian Behemoths.....you know that strips enchants also right...?

nope ... Protective Bond first always ... enchantments are stacked in order and also read by the game negine in order ... I dont know why but there was research on this in another thread.
the reason is the guy never got a level 17 cast outta his PB ... garunteed. then he lost his energy and puff the magic dragon charbroiled his weak little self.
AGAIN TO THOSE THAT ARE NOT SURE OF HOW THE BUILD WORKS .... YOU NEED A LEVEL 17 PROTECTIVE BOND CAST ... you will see it with a 1 energy reduction

You are not Monk so you can't use Devine favor skills and that is one of them you have no points for it not even the thread starter is useing it just breeze and or mending.It is like if I but a strengh skill and all Warrior skills into my Monk the strengh skil won't work I tried it.If you wanted to play this build I would have gotten a Monk/Elem.The reason they are talking about Boon with Zealots firs is becuase they are Monk primaries.You can't even increase t by putting on runes on your scalpal armor.btw Boon is not used conjuntion with zealots fire look at what jelly is useing no Boon on their bar.

also elementalist cannot get a 17 cast outta PB ... the best they get is 12 ... which is what 3 energy loss per hit?

Hmm... Has anyone tried switching out "Live Vicariously" instead of mending? That, combined with a sword/axe, should produce better healing. At 13 healing, that should generate 12hp/attack divided by 1.25 attacks per second = 9.6 hp per second.
If interrupts weren't such a pain, I'd think "Vigorous Spirit" would be even better, since it doesn't require upkeep.
I'll try this tonight and let you all know how this works.

Ok i have a issue.... I have level 16 Protection prayer. level 10 Divine and level 14 Smite. I put on the +1 offhander and cast about 20 times. Never says 1 energy. (I have a total of about 40 casts...none said 1 energy) Now i have essence bond and balth aura on myself. I cant sustain anything at all.
Any clues?
Edit: Didnt know you had to break the enchantment to get it done.
