Anyway.. more to the point i have only ever heard rumors about this chest so i cant help u out Vicious Hunger... it is probably just a rumor that got spread on forums due to high interest.. like the terror shield.

Never in my life playing this game have I heard of a black chest, because either Racthoh or Ubermancer would of found them out by now.

This box is fake. On the other hand, I found a genie lamp in pre searing catacombs and when you doubleclick on it (while its in your inventory) a cloud of smoke appear in front of you and forms into a woman who claims to be Gwen from future. She kept asking for a tapestry shred and said that she will exchange a black-dyed full fissure armor for it.

Being a newbie back then I didn't know what the heck was going on and I sold it to a merchant for 25 gold pieces. When I later realized that annoying girl with broken flute was named Gwen as well, man I felt so stupid.
