I saw a bizarre conversation in TOA one day. A couple of people kept saying that they were going to UW even though there was no favour. In an open chat, they started to discuss a key that allows access at any time.

No-one believed them.

I whispered to ask where it dropped and they told me, though they said it was still a rare drop and so obviously not guarunteed.

I'm not giving away the creatures name who allegedly drops it, or where he is, just yet.

But if anyone out there knows of the key's existence, then I'm sure you know the details anyway.

I can get my solo monk to him and kill him, and so far no key, after 4 kills.

Can anyone confirm whether or not this key exists, just for the sake of my sanity.

I am starting to wonder if the conversation I saw was part of a convoluted scam.

I doubt it exists, 99.9% of everything GW is known to us, something that big and useful would be seen, and anywhere where is the lock?

EDIT: it's not the lornar's pass statue of grenth is it?

No its not lornar's pass. These people apparently went in from TOA. They were back 10 minutes later having a go at someone eho aggroad loads of ataxes and got them all killed, thus wasting a key.

I dont think its a 'lock', it may be that having the item in the inventory is enough to activate a way in by clicking the rock at the foot of the statue ' theone with the inscription on it'.

Not ever having had a key, i dont know all the ins and outs.

Maybe it was a scam. Maybe there was a prearranged conversation to get people to join a team, pay yheir money, and then the leader would log out.

Its tempting to keep killing the relevant boss just to see.

Plus i get some reasonable drops on route, not great, but reasonable.

Ok, I'm certainly not a noob, but here's a noob question - I never heard of this scam, is the location non-existant, or is it a known location but it had a name change as time went on?

i love threads like this. the "please help me confirm something but i won't tell you anything" threads.

honestly, if you're going to be selfish and not reveal any info, why would you expect someone else to help you out? either spill what you know and get the community involved, or just go find out yourself if you intend to keep it to yourself anyway.

o btw, rac, i'll show you where the city of lost hunters is ingame. free of charge for guildies.

You killed it only 4 times? Noooo! You'll need to kill it 100,000 times before it'll drop the special key, and you must use your starter weapon from pre-searing, but I bet you got rid of that ages ago. Tough luck dude!

IMO, this so-called key isn't for gaining access to UW when your territory don't have favor, it's to see how gullible people are.

I read so many threads where people give secrets away, and get flamed for doing it. So I thought I wouldn't give it away, and got flamed for it.

OK, here is what I was told - Rotscale in Majest's rest allegedly drops it.

I realise it probably is BS, but I have this horrible affliction called curiosity.

I was quite narked when I spotted the 5 chests were removed form the platform he's on too.

Was hoping those one's might have stayed there been as most people don't go in that direction. And Krytan chests suck @$$ big time.

Your a noob... someone told you something and you bought it... you don't want to release this info to us? Good... its fake anyway, we have enough rumors going arround..

I generally don't call people noobs.. but think how dumb this is... "Someone told me about this Mythical Item Which Gives Access To UW when we don't have favor?!" "Oh, but I won't tell you anything about it because if it is real OMG I'm not gonna share this info with anyone so I can finally know something no one knows" "OMG 1337"

Here is the truth, someone lied to you, you ran to Guru to ask us about it and tried to be 1337 and secretive at the same time.. this is what makes you a noob.. not the fact that you asked if this item exists but the way you presented it to us...

Actually, I have given it away in one of my replies. I also mentioned why I didn't give it away.

People get flamed for giving out secrets, so I held off.

So I get flamed for not giving out the secret.

So I give it away in a reply, and I still get flamed.

I only asked on guru, after trying it out for myself, but with it not dropping, I thought it would save my sanity and potentially hours of play to ask here, where all the friendly people like you are.

I also already mentioned that it probably was a scam, but being curious, I like to know these things for definite.

I bet you're one of those people that sits at tombs asking for rank 9+ only to join the team, because god forbid, a 'real' new player should have a go.

A simple yes or no would have done, as per the first reply.
