Mine took too long, but it worked on my first attempt.
I chose four enchantments that required maintenance (I don't recall which ones, but I choose only those that would not give HP.. although one did increase the max HP).
I then chose pacify, orison, and smite hex, and healing touch.
He set up the enchantments right off... or so I thought. He apparently only set up two of them... I wanted him to get all four, so he wouldn't regenerate mana. After a while of hitting him, he'd heal himself... but I figured out after a while that he was still generating mana somehow.
I had hoped he'd try to use Pacify on me, but he didn't.
When I got close to him, though, he kicked in another enchantment, and switched to an ax... at this point, things started to work. I noticed his health started declining, and he started having a harder time regenerating enough to cast healing spells on himself before I could whittle away at his health. If only he had kicked in that last enchantment...
I think, had I gotten closer to him immediately, the challange would have ended much sooner.
It might be fun to try again.

If you want to beat it fast (as a monk /whatever) and get the bonus with no hassle:
Slot 1 - Healing Breeze
Slot 2 - Retribution
Slot 3-8 - Nothing
Jack up smiting and healing, mirror will be dead in under 45 sec, you wont even need your wand.

Okay first you need to get a weapon that has a higher max damage than the one you have and put it in a slot, BUT make sure that you dont meet the requirement for that weapon, then the cpu automatically thinks that because the higher max damage weapon does more damage than it equips it! So you have a weapon that has a lower max damage than the other so the mirror equips the higher max damage weapon and only does 4-6 damage because he/she doesnt reach the requirement, meanwhile you're doing about 15-?? damage so you get an easy win... especially if you have no skills equiped he'll just hack away at 5 damage meanwhile you're doing 15 so you'll kill the mirror by the time you have 2/3s health!
PM me if you need some clarification
|
Wait nope sorry didnt work just got inspiration though
okay here we go, this is now what I did as a ranger! you dont even have to be primary just secondary no specifics
I equipped 4 of those world affect mobobbers and then I had one skill as resurrect signet, another as apply poison, and power shot, finally troll ungent.
it took him 20 secs to cast all the world affects so by that time he's dead with a max damage poison elongating bow...

as your "useless" skills pick the ones that sacrifice blood (dont use them yourself) blood of the master etc - the mirror will attempt to use these and nuke his own hp for you

How did you beat the insane damage this sucker deals? It's something like 80 damage a shot for me. :/

I took one useless enchantment, Divine Spirit, and 6!! damage dealing Smite spells. I died in under 10 seconds, but Balthazar's Aura and Symbol of Wrath killed him a second after I died and I won. It is most definitely not something that I'd try if I were you, unless you really can't win using another strategy.

I'm a warrior/necro, I only had healing signet, and frenzy, I use a hammer so went frenzy on him a few times and found that if you hit when the mirror is healing you'll do more damage
It took me about 5 attempts

Sometimes when I'm bored I kill my mirror for fun. I just remember how it was the easiest thing I ever had done in the game for 2000 exp. As an elementalist maybe I am just lucky. I notice he casts Meteor shower, i just move away from it, do my meteor shower, and then, walk up to him and do phoenix. Soo easy, can be done in less than 20-30 seconds. I actually love to run around him, he pulls out his chaos axe, oh how he wishes he wins. Sometimes I let myself almost die, then I kill him quickly. I have died having fun, but maybe i was just having a little too much fun ^^

I am Me/E and I finished my mirror in first try in 7sec. I had all of my skills equipped but I only used 3 spells. First I casted conjure phantasm, then firestorm, and finally repeatedly casting flare. Good thing my mirror was casting firestorm at the beginning, gave me the advantage of time. Funny thing happened when my mirror casted immolate just before it died. During the cutscene, my character was on fire.

m/w fight is really easy. I brought Mend Ailment, Divine boon(the enchant that adds healing to any monk skill, basically), Blessed Signet, and a bunch of things that targeted other allies only. lots of res. AI isn't smart enough to use mend ailment as a healing spell. Though if you have enough refund points, switching helaing prayers for smite and taking holy wrath and retribution wouldn't be bad, either.

LOL I've never had any problem with my mirror. I have so far defeated my mirror as a Warrior, Ranger and just yesterday Monk. They always die on first try within 50s(bonus time) and I have lots of life to spare.
I admit as a Monk, I had to take out all my healing spells except for Healing Breeze. I left Heal Other and Word of Healing since these two cannot be used by the mirror anyway. The rest were smiting spells/signet.
Originally I had planned to capture Scourge Healing to use against him but after 3 tries at Divinity Coast, the stupid monk boss refused to spawn so I gave up on getting this skill.

At the time I first ascended (my Mo/R was the first), I wasn't aware that the mirror didn't use Healing Breeze efficiently. I figured, however, that my mirror would probably only attempt to heal with actual heal spells, rather than use some other spell to get the Divine Favor healing, and further, that my mirror would never recast an enchantment that was still active. Therefore, I went in with Retribution and Divine Boon. The mirror cast each maintainable enchantment once and never again. I would recast Divine Boon whenever I wanted some healing. So I could heal and my mirror never would. Easy victory.
My second character to ascend was my R/E. That was too easy. I just went in with a lot of bow attacks and Troll Unguent. I exploited the fact that my mirror would use weapons I never would -- I closed to melee range and the mirror pulled out an axe. From that point forward, I just hit him with my bow attacks and used Distracting Shot whenever he went for the troll juice. Because he was using an axe, he never used Distracting Shot on me. Easy victory.
My third character to ascend was my E/W. I once again played on the fact that my mirror didn't use the same weapons I did. I brought a couple of stances that had an 75% chance to deflect arrows, but had no effect on magical projectiles from staves. I used Conjure Flame and a fire staff, hitting him 100% of the time, while he used a bow that missed me 75% of the time. Quick and easy victory.
My last character to ascend was my W/Mo. I didn't use any clever strategy for that one, I just went in with my normal skill set and killed the mirror. Surprised me, really. I had just gone in to see how my mirror would act in order to formulate a clever strategy to counter it, and ended up winning without doing anything special at all. I did have Healing Breeze with me, so perhaps that's what tipped the balance to me.

Do exactly that. The bot loves to spam wastrel's worry. Stick a backfire on him and he'll practically kill himself. Whenever he does wastrel's worry on you just wastrel's worry him to cancel it out. Insanely easy.
Also bring a load of crap preps like illusion of haste and illusion of weakness, the bot will cast them at the start, should give you some sort of an edge.

Jesus - ppl actually had a hard time killing thier mirror?
I just ran in and killed him - 1st try with normal skills. It must be because my build uses skill combos to win, and the mirror isn't smart enough to use 'em .
