Why does everyone farm the griffons south of Augury? Personally i prefer the ones to the north, past the hydras. It's an easy run there, about the same distance as to the ones to the south, and no rockshots appearing out of nowhere. With my trapper I get a lot more griffons per hour there than south of Augury.

xia you are stubborn, you ask for these peoples help, and when they give it, you refuse.
I suggest jonnybegood's warrior build for ya...obviously he has had some experience...or maybe you wanan make a monk and doa few fow and uw runs to get enough cash for sup runes...

I have found that black dye is fairly common in pre-searing

In the 3d reply there was a good farming build.
So dont keep talking about your hammer while someone told you not to use it but to use your axe.
Its a good farming build so try it out and post your reaction after trying it.
Other way to make VERY FAST money is to run the "elona reach" mission.
In 5-10 minutes you have 5k.
Let them pay when you have the last crystal and you cant get scammed.
Ask every of the group that wanna be runned 1k and 5*1k = 5k ...
Never tried it myself but I know the mission is very easy to solo.
So if you need the 15k armor and dont have the money...
4 hours of soloing this mission gives you 25k if youre lucky....

Sorry, I messed this up a bit...It's not actually north, but you take the north exit and run around to the south of Augury in Skyward reach.

Cyclone axe is the best multiple attack skill. It has a faster recharge time, it hits a FULL 360, it does +damage to every creature, and it is not an elite! It is not always used for damage...by using this when surrounded you get several benefits.
1.) you get adrenaline for each creature hit, this means fast recharge of bonetti defense
2.) If you use vigorous spirit or live vicariously, you get healed for each creature you hit
See below. Some skills will need to be changed due to the AoE effect (12 minos):

Jonnybegood - Thanks a lot for posting your build. It helped me get past some problems I was having. I've got a hammer Warr/Ranger who just finished Hell's Precipice, and I had found I had to take along three henchies to do anything to the Mountain Trolls at Droknar's. Knockdown skills are great if you're in a group questing, but not so much when farming.
Anyway, I was getting viciously slaughtered by trolls at first with this build. Then, after a couple of practice runs on Griffons outside Elona's, I got the hang of it. The hard part was finding a decent axe cheaply (starting with near 0 cash). I bought a cheap 11%>50 max axe, and used a cheap shield, and things were ok. I quickly realized that having Vig. Spirit and a defensive stance up at all times are the key to staying alive, more than anything else. I have Gladiator's defense, so I added it, and found that speeds up their demise a bunch. Once I realized the timing, and worked out some tricks like using Vig. Spirit and a couple Cyclones while Glad's Defense is on, I was able to do runs in the Troll cave fairly easily.
A couple of things I noticed in those caves - First, after running the caves a couple of times, it seems there is always a group of Avicara (the Fierces are an anathema to this build) outside the cave. They don't follow you away from the cave, but they will follow you in, even if you sprint away. I'm guessing this is by design from Anet... Second, I can kill the Trolls over time, but I can't really do anything to the bosses. They simply regen faster than my dmg output (which is only 2-5 on a reg. attack, 10-13 on a Cyclone Axe). At 27 per attack, Glad's Defense does much more dmg than my axe. So, I usually ignore the bosses, kill all the trolls around them, pick up my loot, and leave. I'll have to check out the Iron Mines run - if there are lots of melee mobs, that could be profitable.
So, thanks again for throwing that out there.

wow... you must be really really lucky to earn 3-4k per run (griffons + elona's mission)
I get about 700GP and if i'm lucky 1.2k tops from griffon + elona's mission. I guess some people just really have awful awful luck and some people get extremly lucky.
btw running elona's mission isn't profitable anymore because everyone and their dogs are running this mission. You'll be lucky if you can get over 2 customers since everyone is running it and lowering prices due to so many people able to run this. Its really not hard at all if you know the right build.

I've been farming Elona mission minotarus for the last two weeks. around 10k per hour + colors and 1 or 2 gold items.
setup is mo/e. prot spirit, SoJ, aftershock, breeze, vigorous, zealots, mending, bal aura. I do loads of damage and can take out 15 minotaurs in one SoJ cycle. I think that around 10k per hour is a nice amount. i'll try fow chest farming with my ranger to see how i like it. ><

Sry for the late reply, but here is what i do at the start
1. as soon as i start i cast mending on my self
2. follow the left wall towards the cave until i reach the avicara , then imedietly after they are agroed i cast sprint.(they will bunch in a ball for a sec but only follow you for a sec.
3. when they stop following you , and you're at the cave(not in it) cast balth's.then follow along from there

Best place to farm Black Dye is pre-searing. Dyes have an increased drop rate in pre.
of course, for the money you could be making farming elsewhere, I'm not sure I recommend this...
