UW groups *bit of a rant*
I am posting this fresh off of anothe bad UW run. Why is it that whenever I enter the UW the first thing I worry about is the person running over to the Lost Soul to take the quest.
On to my story...
I am fresh off of another dissapointing run with my monk to the UW. Things looked good when I looked at the team roster and that is the best it got, looks. It started off taboo when half of our team slow loaded into the place, a first sign of new UW visitors. Then, like always, a few of us shout for the new people not to talk to the Lost Soul and doom us all. Luckily they didn't accept the quest. We try to kill the first group of Attaxes, no one has a bow to pull so the wars run in away from healing range and die and complain to us monks that our Heals suck. Me and the other monk rez them and we try to kill them again, all goes better until some EoE spells send the attaxes scattering right into us softies. Ele, Nec, and other monk dies but we somehow survive. Everyone gets rezed and we continue. Next group, one War dies again and complains on Heals or lack there of. Rez and rinse and repeat for next two attaxes. *note, the war that keeps on dying is running ahead and going Leeroy on us* After seeing he has a 60% DP I ask what if any def skills he took with him....His response "only Endure Pain". Now i know why he always dies in two hits. That and he always uses Frenzy as his stance. INstead of boring you some more I will jsut say that this group only managed to go 10 minutes in before everyone left.
Where oh where have the good UW groups gone? I remember when UW was the major place to go. Granted, that time was when ectos where 16k a piece, but still. It used to be that if you didn't get past the chamber then something was seriously wrong. Now if you can even get past that then you are in a GOOD group. I just want one good group that can get past the chamber and has more experience beyond the UW than smite runs.
I want to visit the Serpent Mountains, the Choas Plains, and Bone Pits again with a group. If anyone would like to do this with me then please contact me IG.

Where have all the good groups gone? My guess is that they've lost interest in the game, moving onto something else until Factions comes out or something similar.
I suggest questioning your group upon acceptance in the party. Sure, it may sound stupid and annoying, but if you are really commited to completing the underworld, that may be your only choice when it comes to PUGs. Discovering what they bring to the battle is a large advantage.
I may actually want to go see the rest of the Underworld aside from the Smites area, and may eventually send you a message via in game. Of course, when I have time.
And as for your prediction that your group is new to the Underworld because of slow loading time, I'll have you know that, some people are on Dial-up and don't posess much RAM on their computers.

^ Yes i understand that some people are on Dial-up, hell i am as well. I cant complain on my Dial-up though, once i have been to an area once it loads the area any other time at DSL speed. Maybe its just that i have a good comp *shrugs*. It was just the fact that i asked if anyone had been here before and the ones that loaded slow where the people that said no. I

I used to play underworld alot back in may and june but the motivation for playing back then was to see if there was an underworld crafter, so there was something of a race going on with other players to see who could find it first. Course it turned out the eternal forgelord from the beta weekends was moved to fissure and an UW crafter didnt exist... That was before 55 monks. It has long been known that the only shrine that drops anything of remote value (whilst being fairly easy to clear) is the ice wastes.
I stopped underworlding after the soloing started and when people started to only play the ice wastes for the ectos, storm bows and eternal gear, then quit out. Same old stuff really.
Pretty much all the mobs consist of the same creature types and you can exploit patterns in the way they attack very very easily. The shrine quests are typically impossible until you figure out patrol paths and ways to exploit terrain/AI. Then they become incredibly easy - My biggest problem with underworld is that it is predictable all the way through and there is not enough mixed mobs by far. Thats why it is so farmable. The fact you can pretty much 2 man, in its entirety, what was formerly regarded as the most difficult pve area in the game just makes it something of a joke now.
I just think of underworld now as the 55 playground. The place where cookie cutter invincimonks and ss/sv necros go to pluck the fruit of the ecto tree.
Id love to see underworld get expanded and be made much much harder. Perhaps it would pose some of the challenge I initially thought it had.

I rarely go into UW for the reason of so many 3 man team's and less people with 8 man teams for ele's.warriors, ranger etc but most people go there for the ecto's and the chance's with a big team are very little for a drop of a ecto for yourself and about 30% of the team dont know anything about uw! sigh and they take quests and bam its over...

Oh yea thats another problem:
(Image contains cuss words. For those who find the f-word offensive - look away now)
That was in June of last year. In hindsight it was all pretty hilarious and the pubbie whose name Ive blurred out became something of a living legend in my old guild for a while (without his knowing). Wasnt really his fault either since we should have communicated it better. I actually kind of miss stuff like that - at least we had 8 man teams back then. And coffee/snack breaks every hour. Those were the days...

I would suggest organizing a TS or Vent group to go to the UW.... this doesn't GUARANTEE you will find good people but you will get less jerks who say "Your All Noobz" and rage quit..
Atleast you can work out everyones build and direct the flow of quests and the strategy as well.
