How to overcome the quest: Defend North Kryta Province.
Hello,
I am a ranger, currently facing great hardship in doing the titled quest.
I woud like to ask, what sort of team build would be good for the quest, and what sort of combat tastics should I employ in order to do such difficult quest?

I'll tell you about my latest expirience.
I am currently R/Mo (the only reason for /Mo is Rebirth skill because I play tombs a lot), and I love barrage. The best and easiest way to make great deal of dmg is to play 'mini barrage' with another ranger (MM should be in team, also). One ranger with WW and the other FW, and thats already decent amount of dmg you 2 are making.
I made it from first try, because I already kicked the shit outta Last Day Dawns and Defend Denravi that very night with same ranger and MM (I'm going to write more about my last saturday titan expirience in another topic), adn because others in team were great (well, monk was a bit noobish, but ok).
If you're interested in complete teambuild I made look at screenshot.

here are some more things to try
Have a mesmer on the team. If he uses echo-backfire he can easily kill 2 earth titans in the 10 seconds of backfire. Also good for using Cry of Frustration on a Malestrom casting Water titan (and interrupt the others that are also casting it). It will also help if he uses Shatter hex.
After the 1st part, stay as near the gate as you can.
Make sure to kill the titans in the right order. Kill all the *element* titans first, unless there is a rotting titan. Kill the Wild Growths last, and when you get to killing them, only kill one at a time. The wild growths spawn 3 or 4 elemental titans when they die.
I think you could also do very well with a hammer warrior using echo-blackout for those bosses that cause mad damage.
hope that helps

Eles just nuke.
The key factor in my teambuild was massive dmg in short time: 2 barragers do barrage thing (with WW and FW spirits up), 2 eles nuke and MM brings up loads of minions. Warriors do tank job and that's it. Titans had no chance to kill ANYONE in team, although once we were close to messed up situation because we didnt kill Rotting Titan first.
LouAl gave you good advice, too.

I've done this quest many times and here the build I used to complete it.
Anti caster Mesmer
Interupt Ranger w/ Apply posion (for poison spam)
2 Echo Nuker
A Necro running corpse control (this is a must)
A Tank
2 Healer Monks
You can take only one Nuker, and then add a monk or a tank, this works also.
Hope this helps

Hello,
I have just completed this mission.
I was following the advice from Cyanide above in terms of my personal skill bar, mainly using barrage and distract skills.
But I teamed up with other rangers, once of which using Greater Conflagration, which turns all of our attacks into fire damage, it really helped.

I did quest last night, as a ranger. I focused on interrupting the rotting titans, their degen spells suck you dry as well as their wells. Focus on rotting first, then elemental titans. Last growths. As long as you have a good interrupter and 2 monks, you should be good.

IMO the key to this is a Necro running Minions + Corpse Control... you can throw any team together with 2 healing monk, and a minion master and you can PWN this quest...
I tried this quest about 10x with what I thought to be great teams, highly organized etc... and we got PWNED in the FACE every time... then my guildie whos a MM said Ummm Linsys you dumbass bring a Minion Master, we PWNED this quest so quick I felt dumb for loosing so many times.
I've now completed this quest with all my characters etc... evertime we bought a Minion Master it was eazy as pie!

I did this early on with my ranger. Usually it was the disease that killed the group, as the monks couldn't cope with the poison and disease degen. So I changed my ranger to R/N and capped tainted flesh, then cast it on members as needed. Not sure how much it helped but we made it through.
This was for PUGs where you can't plan on who's going to be on the team.

Likewise, "I Will Avenge You" is a good skill for Warriors to bring.

I'm not a MM, but an SS necro, but I took Putird Explosion with me. I watched closely and everytime something died, I blew it up. No wells were created AT ALL. We beat it easily. Plus, the damage that Putird did to the enemy was pretty impressive. Obviously, you don't want to do this if you take a MM with you. You'll destroy the corpses that he'll need to make minions. This is just an altenative if a MM is not available.

If you're bringing rangers don't forget to pack 1-2 interupts each. There are plenty of long cast spells to use em on. Prevention is better than cure, as they say.
