I really want to be able to shop there lol, but those tell me "If you are not a friend of the Luxon Armada, i cant help you" or some crap like that.

how do i become friend? do i have to do this mission first (the City under Attack quest )?

You need to have more Luxon faction than Kurzik faction.

No, having as much Luxon faction as Kurzik faction doesn't make you friend of both, but enemy of both.

You'll need to spend faction, and then earn some to be balanced.

Probably doing 'Befriending Luxons'-quest is a prerequisite as well (not sure on that tho).

Ok, so after you've accumulated so much faction, how do you go about the business of 'redeeming' it?

Unguilded players have no means of doing so at the moment as the Rewards NPC is broken. Guilded ones prolly can donate their spare faction towards controlling cities, I'm not sure how that mechanic works tho.

Ok Kaguya let me start over. I'ma give you all this info because based on what I'm hearing here and in the game about these faction points, I just don't know what info is really pertinent or not anymore. So far this factions thing is the weirdest fiery hoop yet.

~I merged accounts and pulled my character over from Tyria.
~I have a guild.
~I have not purchased a guild hall.
~I have completed a great number of quests in Factions and have many still uncompleted. The last primary quest I've done was 'The Convocation', and i followed that up with 'Battle in the Undercity'.
~I have 10k Kurdish faction and some 5500 Luxon.
~Guardsman Oldrich in front of House zu Heltzer is telling me to bugger off.
~The factions tab in my Hero screen states that I can redeem my faction at a Kurdish or Luxon 'official', I've looked high and low and can't seem to locate one. Where are these guys?

My reply was towards 'how to spend the faction points I have', and there doesn't seem to be any for unguilded players. This is a gamestopper for me atleast, because I'd rather reclaim my current maxed faction, before continuing to do those quests.

"Faction Rewards" NPC at both Kurzik (House zu Helzer) and Luxon (Cavalon) cities are most easiest way to 'redeemem' your faction by buying Jadeite or whateveritwas from these NPCs, however, these NPCs seem bugged at the moment, so you can't use your faction to buy stuff from them. Alternatively, you can use the faction to buy control of some faction outposts, which I'm not familiar myself how it works.

controling outposts is solely for alliances, you can redeem faction from yourself into faction for your alliance. If your alliance is amongst the highest in faction points, it'll get control over an outpost ...

the fact that the reward guys don't work is indeed a big dissappointment for me aswell, cause i have lots of finished quests, but can't get the reward cause i don't want to throw away faction. Hope Anet fixes it fast, or at least says something about it other than "it'll be fixed in a day or 2"

Ok I think I'm just misunderstanding some things is all. The Kurzick Merchants are at least talking to me, I just cannot seem to gain admittance into House zu Heltzer.

Guess I'll just keep plodding along doing my unfinished quests until the answer reveals itself. Thanks for your help!

I think access to HzH/Cavalon and the lands beyond is restricted until you're farther along in the plot.
