I have just reached the point in the game where Jamie is offering me the choice of going to House Zu Heltzer or to Cavalon.

Whichever way I choose, I want to be able to get to the other capital ASAP. I don't want to be locked into one pve part of the game for weeks. Is there a straightforward way to get to the other capital when you have chosen one?

I have saved up 6k faction in both Kurzick and Luxon, so that's not a deciding issue.

Get both quests
Go to either House or Cavalon
Warp back to Maatu
Rinse and repeat

It's not really a choice from Jamie, it's just a quest that allows you to talk to the guards in front of each capital so you can get entrance. Chosing one capital does not lock you out of the other.

Really? Awesome! Thanks for the info.

I was afraid of taking one quest over the other, because back in the preview I was given a similar choice in my GH by an npc, and when I chose one side, I lost ALL the faction I had accumulated in the other side.

You do know that when you spend faction for one side, you lose faction from the other side?

If you already have 6k in both I suggest that you do not spend any of it until you hit 10k in both and knock off "Befriending the Kurzicks" and "Befriending the Luxons" both at once.

Wrong. If you just want to continue the storyline and go after Shiro, you need only do one of the Befriending quests. If you want to go everywhere on both sides though, you'll have to do both.

So if I understand right, I should finish one befriend quest (with 10k), not spend ANY, and then do the other one, and then I can choose to spend as I wish?

yes...once you cash in for your amber or jadeite you will lose the other sides faction points. Ex. you trade in 1000k Kurz faction, you lose ALL of your Luxon faction points. =(

Right cause if you spend it before...You'll have to get that 6k back again before you can finish the other.

But you'll still only be able to spend one or the other...

So you're looking at wasting 10k in faction for one side or the other....

In the future, only gather Luxon faction, spend it all until you are at 0 again, then only gather Kurzick faction, spend it all until you are at 0. That way, you don't waste any faction. There's no point in getting 10k for both sides at the same time because you will be throwing away another 4k faction (at least if you stand a reasonable chance to reach 10k again).
