Was bored today and decided i would do some chest runs from ember light camp.
Chest drops were to be as expected lots of purples and the odd gold or 2.

So i try to salvage a couple of purple staffs that have good mods and they both salvage to planks.. ok i thought, i will get a superior salvage kit and so i try it on a gold staff and get a +5 defense head.. fine.
Now out of the roughly 25k worth of keys i bought i had about 8 golds, only one was worth selling but it was a staff and i couldnt be botherd with it so merched it, all the other golds had a perfect mod or near perfect or 2 mods, but every single one salvaged to materials, even with a brand new sup salvage kit, and i did about 5 purples to and they went to materials.
I know a few is to be expected but thats a bit much 1 mod out of 13.

Wow, that sucks.

I lost a perfectly good +5 energy and +30 health upgrade bone staff to 13 bones......

At least sometimes I get steel ingots.

Just about everything salvages to Basic Crafting Materials. I think Anet decided they'd increase the chances of the drop then just screw us all over, at least give us rare materials ffs!
It use to happen all the time with mods that you found on non-max weapons, now it just happens on everything.
