Same here. The npc will give you instructions on what to do, but the one time I did get in the entire group ran off in different directions. I was totally confused. Good place to be if just standing around is your thing.

Many people has probably quit GW.. at the very least I do know of at least 15 friends who have finally called it quits.
I will give them probably up to C4 to see how it goes, but even then if Anet doesn't buck up I will probably just find something else too.

Jade Quarry is not a comulsary mission and it only provides about 300 faction for a win. So people don't bother with it.

Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood aren't required to complete the game.

Sometimes, you will get more faction for LOSING at Fort Aspenwood than you will for winning Jade Quarry. Thus, many people do not see Jade Quarry as worth the effort.
*glances at generik's post* I'm sure there are other factors at play here, too...

Wonder if people will ever start playing jade quarry for fun once the faction grabbing rush settles down, seems a shame not to even use the mission built for us.
Besides I'm curious as to how long your average match takes in the quarry, 'cos fort aspenwood is pretty lengthy (for a kurzick win anyway). So even at 300 faction the quarry may be comparable if it's alittle faster in general.
Heh and you're too kind Redly, I'm pretty sure it's entirely due to other factors rather than a decline in GW population, but I suppose frustration can skew things either way.

I've only been able to get in Jade Quarry once, and no one knew what to do (myself included).
Aspenwood is getting tough to enter as well.
First, every area after Cavlon/HzH seems pretty dead.
Second, (sit down for this) most of the PvE crowd doesn't like PvP all that much. So Aspenwood/JQ becomes something to do for a hoot once in a while, like RA.

I think it is restricted to 20 minutes. The faction reward seems to be a multiple of however many points your team gets (maybe 30 * total_points). So if your team doesn't do a good job of getting resources, you get a crap reward.

I went there twice yesterday. First time there was only one other person, the second time there was a whopping three people. It's dead. I'd like to try it just once though.

a little of topic but...
few poeple that i know have quit are on break. GW is just too good for no monthly fee. What most people don't understand is to fully get enjoyment out of this game you will need...
A. a microphone
B. a pvp guild
C. some friends in game
D. not suck at pvp
what i mostly see is pvers that leave this game to go play WoW.... but competitive poeple stay work on becoming famous on top100s....
what i also find surprising is the amout of FPS players in GW... i guess all the hardcore mmorpg players went to cough up some cash for WoW... and ive herd their pvp sucks... anyways back to FPS part ... fans of squad based shooters have a lot to find in common with all the team based battles and your reliance on not your own skill but the skill of your teammates as well.
its hard to get into pvp but once your in you really know where the enjoyment of this game comes from... i hope ur friends are having as much fun as i am in gw...

i remember the fire islands being this bad when prophecies came out, it just takes time for some to get to those missions, not everyone who plays is hell bent on getting to the end as fast as possible.

I am wondering where everybody is to, I have heard alot of ppl here and
in-game say, well the majority of the crowd has just not made it this far
yet. I don't believe that, there were alot of ppl in Prophecies, where are
they?? I have been all across the map doing checks and it is just not as
filled up as Prophecies was.
For comparasion, THK in Prophecies almost always had 2 dis usually 3 full
of ppl complaining/augueing about the mission, it was a major stopping
point/tough spot to get past in the game.
Now I go to Gayla Hatchery or Arborstone(although Arborstone is not as
empty as GH) and there might be 10 ppl there, I spent a week going there on
and off looking for a pug with my assassin before finally getting thru.
Kind of saddening, hence why I believe Factions was designed to pull the
pve crowd into pvp more, than vice-versa, guess I might have to try and
get some rank to play with real ppl.
Call me noob boy all over again now..........*sigh*

alternative method for gyala? never tried I failed it once made it second try, arborstone, done at once (with a ritualist healer and 1 monk, 3 assassin ftw :P)
Guess it depends on the team you get in, I prefer leading, even though I haven't done the mission yet. Just keep calling and warning, complement other players that makes them stick to your words. "Nice interrupt there, it probably saved our lives" or "You are definetly the first assassin ever to deal such a high spike to several enemies and survive to tell the tale"
stuff like that, it makes the ppl in the team be happy which is a great help in succeeding

Quite frankly, I'll admit I suck at PvP, my guild does not PvP that often, and I am almost never in my guild's TeamSpeak server. So, a mic, a pvp guild, and being good at PvP have nothing do to with how much fun one will have while playing Guild Wars.
