A sad tale for all those Mo/W Solo Farmers out there?
Not just Mo/W but all solo farmers actually.
I, like everyone else, has been too busy playing Factions to notice that it is very solo farm unfriendly. There are virtually no mobs where all the mobs are the same. They are all mixed with warriors/casters/range attackers, that are impossible to counter with only 8 skills.
The only exceptions are mobs that appear out of nowhere (Oni's), or the occasional gardner free mobs of rot wallers safely hidden behind mobs of naga or wardens.
I'm sure people will find ways to solo farm in Factions, but it might not involve hunting, maybe running supplies for shards or something. Solo farming will probably be limited to Prophecies until they decide to nerf that further.

Meh, people have already found solo farm spots. What hasn't been shown yet is whether these are particularly profitable.

Pongmei Valley is easy to clear out. It doesn't take too long and you can make some decent coin.

The good old riposte warrior build is very applicable in alot of areas I have noticed the problem is drops just arent that good. I killed one assassin boss 7 times and only got 2 drops from him. 55 necro can handle alot of enemies on kurzik side also granted you dont run into oni's. Just the easily farmable large mobs arent there anymore. Im gonna laugh at all the w/mos trying to solo with mending cuz there are alot of shatters out there.

There may be significantly more good locations than in Prophecies even, lets just say certain otherwise threatening mobs dont carry some necessary skills. Keep your eyes open.

I was a very successful solo Necro in Prophecies. On the Kurzick side, I have yet to find a way to solo most of that area. I tried to solo a pack of 4 dredge one time and I was dead before I even got a skill off. Tried to solo the wardens too and that didn't go so well either. Its clear that ANET are not big fans of solo farming, or running. So they took steps to fix both.
There are areas that you can solo like that 1st island, but you aren't getting rich over there. Enemies that can make you rich do not like to be solo'd very much at all. I'm hoping someone finds some good spots, but I don't have a ton of confidence yet, especially since it's been over a week and noone has really found any areas in Cantha that are worth your time to solo.

Prophecies was childsplay it required no thought process to do(not saying this about anyone) however anet mainly hates bots and there are alot of farm bots and even a few run bots. I mean you can even solo half of fissure and duo everything but the worms, Ive done greneths footprint as a warrior and as a 55 necro, chest run hells with a 105 monk and taken out over 40 grawl in seconds with a ranger. Factions makes you work at it and think you cant just rambo into a group and cast spells. Lets say rangers give you trouble well then you need to find a way to block the rangers maybe a wall or hill while you kill them off.
Dont think eveyone is gonna share their solo secrets right away cuz they know how nerf happy anet is.

55 Necro
I have a 55 Necro and one place I was farming a couple days ago was Napuhi Quarter. If you are looking to find Celestial weapons there is a greater chance they will drop there than other places. People also talk about how the chests there drop celestial weapons, but I have yet to get one. Other than Celestials the drops aren't tooo bad. There is potential to hit the jackpot with a perfect celestial weapon though. I think they may have given the Star Lights Nightmare weapon which can mess you up. I am not sure if they have always had that or not, but I jsut noticed it recently. I have run into parts where I cannot kill the star light, Its best to bring a Star warrior over to them and ss him and the Star Light otherwise good luck. And bring Orison because two Nightmare weapons will kill you. I havent really tried a non SS 55 Necro, That might work better.
---Maybe the chests don't liek me since I got a perfect Celestial Hammer from the very first chest I opened in Cantha. -.-

I'm pretty sure the Wardens outside in the kurzick areas are easily farmable with a w/x. I messed around for about 2 minutes and it seemed doable.

I have not been able to successfully farm either Wardens or Dredge with my 55 Necro. And those enemies make up most of the Kurzick side of the map.
The problem I've found is the variety of enemies in these groups. It's very different than Prophecies where you can just fight a bunch of hydras, trolls, aatxe, etc without much difficulty. Here, these groups of enemies, more often than not, have different classes. And that's made it very difficult for me.

Guys have a bit of hope!, its been over a week??? well think of profecies campaign, it took like 3 months after 55 was even discovered for people to find any good locations, you got to give every one some time to come up with builds for places and locations to farm. Dont expect 1 week into a game people are going to have found god like farming areas.
Any how i have found many grenths balance/riposite builds for solo'ing bosses in factions.

I'd like to take this time to remind people that this has been mentioned already, and I do believe that TsunamiRain has already figured out how to 55 some areas, and has already posted his findings in the Monk build section.

I've found a few spots in the city, luxon and kurzick areas. However, I don't share this anymore because... well the nerf stick smacks spots dead very quickly these days.
It's important to note that with the new set of skills in Factions there is now some variability in how you approach certain mobs. I've found that with the introduction of Expel Hexes that you need to vary your tactics. SS isn't going to cut it anymore in areas where mesmers use this skill. That's all I'll say.
Peace!
