Ice caves of Sorrow: The nightmare
Is this mission bugged or something? I've tried 4 times with henchies and i get as far as where you have to follow the large group of Mursaat... When they get to the first group of white mantle about 4 of the Mursaat seem to get blocked and can't move due to the spawning of the White Mantle... Tried luring the Mantle out the way... tried just killing the mantle and rushing back but the Mursaat just make short work of everyone. Eventually killed most of the Mantle but theres one caster who stays blocking the mursaat and you can't get near him because Evenia gets caught up in the excitment and gets slaughtered.
I tried this mission countless times before with PUGS but none of them ever last because, quite honestly none of them seem to have a clue and mess up, but apparently it's my fault cause i'm not a uber monk with 1000+ hp healing spells(sarcasm). Also most of the time i end up sole monk and i'm not good enough to be sole Monk... Heh least i can admit it right? Even when i create the party i can never find a secondry monk so i mention Alesia and all the other players run a mile.
Fun that is the Ice Caves...

LoL, but I really am sorry you are having such a problem with it. I may be able to go through it with you tonight (my tonight anyway...). I usualy play around mdinight or 1 am (US Mountian Time). Add me to your friends (Obi Lou Kenobi) list and then PM whatever character I am on at the time. I really need to do it with my ranger, but could do it again with my monk if needed.

As I recall I did the mission second try then the bonus right after that. I can't imagine why you have to much difficulty with it.

lol, there's actually a warrior build to solo it.
I can't help but find that a tad humorous.
Just keep trying, some people have harder times with certain missions. It's probably because you're aggroing a group you shouldn't. At the end, you don't want to aggro that big group of mursaat (I believe so, I haven't done the mission in ages). That might be one that is easier to do with PUGs only because most of them have gone through the mission at least once.

Hand - What he explained in his post was a bug. A very serious bug, in fact, because this bug forces you to fight Mursaat while uninfused. THAT is the difficulty he is having with the mission, and it is understandable.
Legendary - The warrior build that solos it is infused, and at this point in the game, all characters, henchmen included, are supposed to not be infused. Also, it seems you didn't really even read the post, suggesting he not aggro the big group of Mursaat when he clearly stated that a bug forced him to.
Nestaron - It is unfortunate that this kind of thing happened. I have had it happen once before, but luckily only one Mursaat got stuck, not the 4 that you are having. My only real advice is to keep trying the mission. Your last resort would be to fight/get a run to the Iron Mines of Moladune mission to get your armor infused, then come back and try the mission.

Reading comprehension for the win
this has actually happened to me, fortunately only 2 mursaat got stuck on that occaision, and i was able to take them down and the white mantle without much hassle.
It doesn't happen every time, but you seem to have pretty poor luck with it, and your groups.
My only suggestions would be to either get a guild group, or a group of friends or be much more discerning about the pugs you join.

I feel your pain sort of. I was in a PUG a while back with my ranger and we got to the point your talking about and the big group of Mursaat got stuck on a chest. We kinda kept poking at them and trying to draw them back to get unstuck and after quite a lot of attempts and a bunch of DP on most everyone we got all, but a couple unstuck. Unfortunately, but then half our group left and the rest of us had so much DP that getting hit with Spectral Agony while uninfused = death. I tried it later and got through mission ok. Good luck with it.

Just went back to it today, 2 runs with pugs and both runs were screwed up because of idiots... First one was a Ranger who decieded to lure the mursaat as they passed by the cave opening. Second run was a warrior/monk being a lamer and decieded he wanted to be Sadria and ran and sacraficed himself dragging Evenia with him...
Duno why im having bother with this, did it no trouble whatsoever with my ranger, necro and warrior.

Yeah that is not normal, the mursaat normally move slowly down the path of doom, clearing the way for you.
What I always do, being an overly cautious type, is leave the ladies locked up and go clear the path for them, then run all the way back and free them, leading Evenia to the rescue ship safely and easily.
At least if you do that it makes killing a few mursaat possible but painful.

I did it last night with a pug. Everything went just fine (other than our warrior that ran in front of the Mursaat and got himself killed and then mapped out...I think he was trying to draw us all in for a total wipe)
Edit:
I meant to say sorry again about all the bad luck
