Well, based on the newer posts and from what I am hearing from friends and guildies, the drop rate was elevated to some degree. Perhaps we didn't have favor the second time I was in. If there is any truth to that rumor...

I do have to say that my first trap run through UW last night had a nice drop increase ! 7 ectos, 8 golds, 2 gold chests. Too bad it tapered off significantly after that. At first we thought the "double the chance" had been applied to UW and FoW as well. Maybe I'll give tombs a go and see what happens.

The deep was averaging better yesterday than today on the gold drops, today all the chests there were purple. Ug's was NO gold drops.....in 5 runs (and we didnt make it all the way to the end but good enough to find out). Deep was better by far and all the chests were gold yesterday.
Still was happy since I got my 5 gold items yesterday in the deep and didnt really care today .....

Did part of The Deep today. Got 1 gold drop right in the first 4 rooms. I think its working great

ok so the gold drops doubled.... considering the hundreds of players farming the deep this weekend caused the doubled gold drop to come down to less than regular... its counteracting its purpose.... /bow to anet

As Gaile said, IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN THE ZONE, the drop percentage chance is the drop percentage chance, it DOES NOT FLUCTUATE

gaile doesnt know shes jus repeating what shes told.. chinese whispers anyone, from playing ive found that heavily farmed areas have poorer drops and thats why people say troll farming is crap now. FoW drops less shards at peak times then if i go in as soon as we get favor (when i first started the only time i completed a run and didnt get any shards was when i went in the evening after that i only went in the morning as soon as we got favor). Greens drop less from heavily farmed bosses as anyone who farms greens regularly can testify

Done a few tombs runs on Friday and the ecto drop had certainly increased to the fact that we was getting around 4-5 ecto drops per run.

Then A-net patched the game due to lack of drops in the elites and we got sod all for the rest of the weekend so work that one out

Let's see out of the 12 chests I encountered, only 1 was purple. This was in The Deep, btw. I only killed Kanaxai once this weekend due to RL issues, but managed to get to 12 chests. 5 the time we killed him (all Gold), 3 in a failed group, 2, 1, and 1 = grape)

but as for Gold drops, I'd have to agree. Not only did I get very few, but there were crap gold drops. I didn't even get a green. -.-

Did the deep a few times and got one purple axe out of it. Didn't see anyone get a green.

Also took a total of 2 hours to get into 3 groups. Waste of time.......back to "normal" PVE for me.....
