I have absolutely no luck at all, well there's all that bad luck, but that's a whole other story. Anyway, there was a time or two that I was out doing quests with full hench team and have gotten greens. It was amazing. Since then, my luck went back to bad. <sigh> Oh well, I'll always have the memory of that time. lol

As much as I value all the help people are giving me I really don't appreciate people telling me which staff I should have. The problem is, I want Amadis' staff. I don't care if it let's me last only 1 hit longer from a lvl 28 npc, there have been loads of occaisons when I'd thought "If I'd just have had that extra bit more health I could have run away further and maybe lived". I don't care if there is a better one I should have. Fact of the matter is...I want Amadis', and I will get it, one day. It's not that I don't want a green air staff other than Amadis', but I want his the most.

oh ok, that's not too bad, although I just bought myself 15k Canthan armor tonight so now I have the vast sum of....seven gold left!! It takes me forever to save up money so I figured it would be quicker to try to get it myself. I went with the figure of 60k purely because whenever I've seen anyone selling green weapons...it's always been vastly expensive!

actually i was talking to CHUIU explaining him why +60hp staves have no use. You have chosen to take it onto your account and think of it as I am making you do something. All I can answer is: jeesh, do whatever you want, why do I care...

Hey, Ive been trying to get that staff as well, Ive been observing at Amadis for quite a long time and I dont have the problem of him dying but rather the problem of him owning me lol.
When going out silent surf, I catched up with him to the right and aggro everything in the area which include outcast, oni, those turtle things, and those jellyfish looking things.
then i run away or die and look at them fight.
once he is weakened, I go in for the kill.
pros about this method: dont need to bring any hench (more chance of drop)
cons about this method: either have 15% dp or he will still own u 1v1
I dunno, any better ways?

Greens drop as often with a full party of henchmen as with a party of humans, it just doesnt show you the drops reserved for henchies. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong.

My strategy in the end was to start from Seafarer's Rest.
In the party was me (ele), my brother (monk), talon silverwing and sister tai. (I also took the Protection Henchman instead of my brother's monk when he left to do something else and it still worked fine)
Leave Seafarer's rest into Silent Surf...go through the "hole in the wall" and hug the right hand wall, and walk quick up past the resurrection shrine to the other hole in the other wall. Usually you will see Amadis run through this hole but sometimes he already has...also this method usually allows you to dodge the "on-land sea creatures" most of the time. Wander through the second hole and Amadis will usually have had the smart idea to aggro some Rockhyde Dragons, but they never usually attack him first...While he's busy fighting them...attack him. 2 monks, a tank and a damage dealer works just fine. I dealt him most of the damage and used Lightening Hammer, Lightening Orb, Lightening Strike, Enervating Charge, Chain Lightening. I also used Elemental Attunement, Air Attunement and Aura of Restoration. You can pretty much just pound him continuously due to the dual attunements.
It took about 25 attempts for me to get his staff but it was worth it!
As soon as he died every time I just went straight back to Seafarer's Rest and started again. If I aggroed any "on-land sea creatures" at the beginning I would just restart...like I say, usually you can get past them before they get aggroed...Sister Tai is usually the one to do the aggroing!
Hope that helped...Good Luck.
