I'm up for a OoB cap group. I missed the first proposal as I'm GMT +10 so I was asleep by the time you set a time for it.
New time maybe?

It does sound like an interesting idea... but whether or not it can stand upto the punishment you get there i'm not sure about. If you all brought a standard touch build with Whirling and Throw Dirt that would take Oni of the Deep pretty much completely out of the equation, even more so if maybe 1 brought Dust Trap after fiddling with stat points.
Wouldn't the nightmares and there energy draining be a bit problematic? Same goes for the depletion area... if its still bugged theres a good chance the rangers will all end up at 0 energy.
I'd be up for a go though, not like i'd lose anything if i went and it failed. I have a fully fledged Touch Ranger ready to go... just as soon as this piece of **** router/ISP starts working properly.

I've tried several life stealing skills and concluded, months ago, that you cannot get past knocking down aspects. Just try to prove otherwise.
Also, editing GuildWiki does not make it true.

I edited GWiki based off of knowledge I had from when I snuck into The Deep when BlackBlades still held an Iron Grip on Cavalon (dont ask how) and noone knew about knockdowns yet. We managed to kill some Aspects without.

I'm trying to cap OoB right now with Henchies but I'm already at -60% and I haven't even got to the bottle neck yet...
Livingston
Edit: Ummm yeah. Frost Wurms are bad umm kay.
With level 10 henchies at -60% we can't touch the frosty, and if we try to run past it, it takes down 3 of my guys and then of course we are bird food... *shakes head*
Screw it. If I could take down at least one mob, even every 5 go's, I would continue. But we can't even take a quarter of the health from a single mob before being wiped... I could probably do it with my warrior, but I can't see it happening with my ranger.

LOL -- you'll never cap OoB trying to head down that way. Your best bet would be to pay for a run to camp rankor. Or you could do the rest of the storyline and go through the desert to the southern shiver peaks.
Note: Run will cost you about 2k.

Yeah, the whole point was that my Ranger hasn't gotten that far in Tyria so I couldn't go from the bottom up, and I was trying to get the skill ASAP so we could conduct this little experiment. I could pay for a run, but I really hate doing that. I may just run myself as far as I can run and then PUG whatever missions I need to get there...

No, everyone knew they needed to knock down aspects three times (in reality 4) because of the prima guide (thats just about all its good for). Your group either lacked problem solving skills, people who can do basic research, or they did have people who could knockdown and you just didn't know. I don't believe for a second out of 12 people you didn't have a single person with a knockdown skill anyway.

Hey I'm in if only to see if this will work heh. I put together a touch ranger just for the PVP event to counter luxon touchers and haven't used the build since. Need to buy an expertise mask and I'm set. This should be interesting. I'll admit I had tons of fun in fort aspenwood with this build smacking dumb wammos around.
@ Livingston
The easiest place I found to get OoB is east of copper mines. This does of course require that somebody probably needs to run you that far. You just walk out with henchies and fight your way past the first 2 groups. Then check if he's the 1st boss just east of the exit down the hill left of the fork, or take the right fork and go a bit up the hill to see if he's up there. If not, rezone and try again. For me he showed up as the boss further up the hill on my first zone out so it was quick.
I don't understand why people think touch rangers are so nooby as it actually takes a bit of skill to keep energy balanced while staying alive. There are so many counters to this build it's amazing how many people whine about touchers. Just looking at the guildwiki build listing you can find literally dozens of counters. I'll bet it's just the hundreds of prima-guide-buying wammos posting complaints about touchers as this build smacks them down quite easily.

None of us HAD a Prima guide, because in general everyone from my guild has been playing since the start of Prophecies - and it was well known how useless THAT guide was.
And yes, noone in our group had a KD. We even lacked Meteor Shower, as we went with a Warder and a Water ele, both packing party-wide Monk support. Most of our damage was from Necros.
We got as far as the Aspect of Fear.

I really don't believe you, you cannot get past the first 4 without knockdowns. The first time I did the deep I sat in room 1 spamming Spiteful Spirit, Insidious Paradise, and degen skills for 5 minutes before I figured out the warrior didn't have a KD skill, you expect me to believe you got past that room without knocking him down?

To play the devil's advocate, it is always possible that "way back", some of the aspects were bugged and KD wasn't required.
No matter, since currently, KD is required. A group of touchers with no KD skills ain't gonna get far now.

I agree with Aillas. At one point, vampiric attacks on the aspects would circumvent the need for KD. This has been updated at some point. To my knowledge, you could still do it, but I haven't tried it, since most groups don't want a Ranger.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for saying this, but...
'Shock' is a 'Touch Skill...'
