Reading the skill description would be my first tip.
Get rich schemes are:
Scam other players - DO NOT DO THIS!!! This could result in you getting deleted from GW all together.
Farming - usually done with high end characters, if you have Factions, you can become high end quickly, although your playing experience will be very limited. Prophecies takes longer, but you'll be more experienced as a player and you'll get better skills.
Trading - Selling in GW can net you good money, but you'll have to find willing buyers.
Skills in the game right now can be located on this web-site for each profession (Dervish and Paragon are in Night Falls - not yet out).
The maximum level for any character is 20. Monsters can obtain higher levels though.
Skills differ from 1 campaign from another.

Level 20 is max for all segments of GuildWars. Get rich quick? Get a lucky drop and sell it for lots of gold. Skills in the game? Read the manual lately? lol

In faction, one way to get money is save your monastary credits and imperial commodations and use them to buy expert salvage kits at kaineg from the imperail quartermasters...its not much, but a start. Just sell the kits to the merchant for maybe a 500 to 1K profit (not sure). The only other place I found, which is really nice to farm, is arborstone ruins from the ALtruim side. Enter arborstone (I use a 55) and kill everything except bosses and dredge. I do 3 runs there back to back, I get enough materials, and goto droks and sell them. That 3 hours in arborstone nets me easily 40K in profits fom selling mats

Get rich quick? How rich, how quick? Nothing comes real quick in this game. It takes time to get the build you like and the experience you need to use it for farming. Or, when you learn the routes, you can run. Can be very lucrative.
I have been playing almost 1 year now, and I am finally keeping my gold at or around 500k. I don't run for profit nor do I farm just to sell the drops. My gold comes from selling crafting materials to those that don't salvage or don't want to take the time to. It use to surprize me how many people get to Grotto and don't have the materials for their 15k armor. Dyes I have found (I keep around 50 of each color, except black & silver, around 20 of each of them), no matter the selling price, is profit. Salvaged runes are rarely sold for a loss.
I keep a character in pre until I can't carry anymore salvage materials, dyes, runes, etc. Save spider webs. They salvage into silk with expert kit in post. I find more dyes in pre with a lvl 6 or above character than with any character in post. Over the past 4 months, I have taken over 800 dyes into post. I sold most to the dye trader, but like I said previously, I keep some to sell in Grotto. After I bring that character to post and put materials into storage, I delete the char and start over.
Nothing worth having comes quick or easy. Be patient, learn, earn, and be great at it.
