Yup you can do an air ele, with koss as the aggro tank using Physical resistance. Takes awhile though. Just flag him to aggro and nuke away, blinding flash and the one that causes weakness in the ele build + ess bond and rebirth.

when you say "takes a while" does that mean hours just to move a little bit? LOL. Maybe it would be better to take 3 heros plus me Still I hope to try when I get my heroes trained up since I have never fully explored FoW or UW and I do likes me exploring.

Well it takes about (rough est) about 20 minutes to clear out the first room. I wouldn't try it with multiple hench though. There are other builds that work better, like necro builds (based around spoil victor) and insidious that are a lot faster. Flagging one hench is easy enough, but multiple hench gets much harder.

I thought they could only use primary skills... doylack is a good replacement though..

No, you can change thier seconds to whatever you want as long as you have the profession unlocked on your account. I take doylak too for use on the coldfires instead of PR.

This makes me extremely happy. I have 11 chars and have never been into either fow or the underworld due in part to reading all the horror stories about scams and the popularity of 2-man farming with rubber-stamped builds etc. I'm not really interested in farming these areas but I'd love to explore/quest in them. I'm so hoping this isn't a bug that gets fixed before I get a chance to go there.

Wait, what? Doesn't it not matter if heroes get drops? They're yours and you can just take the item off their invent and into yours?

Heros share you inventory, but thats only because it allows you to edit their armor runes and weapons.
They don't share your inventory for items, meaning like normal henchmen they take their fair share of drops which you will never see.

You still can't really "explore" UW with just hench or heros. FOW might even be a bit much to fully explore with just hench/heros. This 2 man build with koss as the tank is basically for clearing out the smites, but the driders, mesmers, golems, etc. are an entirely different story. Yes, it's not a bug, they have said numerous times that you can take the heros anywhere, including ha.

How do I get lvl 20 henchs into these places? I have only ever enterd thru ToA and the henchs there are much too low of a level. TY in advance.
edit. also can you survive with henchs/heroes in the Tomb of Kings and the Factions elite areas as well?

I'm pretty sure cantha has level 20 hench, never tried to take them in though. Tombs you could always take hench, although like the elite missions, i'm not sure why anyone would want to. Why lose the guaranteed drops to the heros/hench. Urgoz you might be able to do 3 man +heros, but the deep you wont be able to as easy since you need to split into 4 (so you's need 4 people +heros) groups just to get in. Again though, i'd rather see the drops goto people then hench.
