I haven't come from Cantha yet (simply took my Fations girl to LA and then to Elona), but I did manage to get a lvl 9 mesmer from LA to Kamadan with henches -- NO death, no trouble. The quest isn't all that difficult, really.
Of course, my lvl 18 monk nearly got his arse handed to him by the Scythes-of-Nastiness since they aggro'd onto him and would not go away. But he still made it.

I totally had it with these two quests. First time it's kinda okay. But then go do it with all your chars. Some will of course be snide and say: but why do you have that many chars, learn to choose.
The other problem are the henchies, lol, lvl 12 in LA, at least the enemies come one at a time. Oh, why didn't I get a group, guess I tried, but no one was interested.
It only takes five minutes: yeah, it only takes about five minutes, if you succeed. The braindead henchies screw it up half the time in Kaineng especially. And Sister Tai, I want to punch you in the face, you ***t.
So yes, you all who did it multiple times, with henchies, with an empty skillbar, with no armor, dancing, alt-tabing and watching out of your window, are awesome. Now get over yourself.
I seriously hate that I have to somehow prove myself just to get to Elona.
Of course, I'm one of those people who never want to work for anything, are lazy, useless, waste to society, should be destroyed, at least sterilized to prevent future harm to the gene pool, naturally.
But can't there just be a way to skip these?
Oh, and I suck. Bad.

If your character cant make it to Elona because the entry quest was too hard, then you aren't the heros that they were looking for. =)
Your self-deprecation is refreshing but seriously - the quests aren't any harder than the rest of the game, they just SEEM like they are because of the level disparity. When you learn to think creatively then things get much easier. When I brought my warrior over from Lions Arch, I didn't even try to fight at first - I snuck around and killed the gates while avoiding the mobs. I got three that way, and only had to fight one grasp at the end. With some kiting skills I bet you wouldn't have to fight at all.
I'm sorry a couple of you are having a tough time with one or two of your characters but seriously - its not that hard compared to most things you do in the game.

if this quest is that much of a problem to you then it's going to be a loooooong time before you finish nightfall....>.>
Next thing you know people will be crying to skip past Jennur's Horde.."Respawning mobs? OMG why do we have to do this...the whole...playing a game with some sort of difficulty thing"

As Mournblade has already pointed out, the quest isnt about killing lvl 28 monsters its about standing under the rifts till it dissapears, in LA most of the rifts can be disapated with out any fighting at all. for those with multible characters I might suggest doing the quest with all your characters one after the other then you are done with it and need not worry about it any more. The key to the quest is simply watch and wait when the rift has no one near run in disapate it move on.

i gave up with trying from cathan to elona, i just took everyone to lions arch and crossed over from there. The quest from there is simple, you can get away with just killing 2 creatures for the whole quest!

The quest From Lions arch is SOo friggen easy... you can do it solo...
the one from Kaineng is a little harder for 2 reasons. 1 you have the ability to have a party of 8 not 6
and two you have lev 20 henchmen available, PLUS a assassin hero if you did the other Rather easy quest first...
The necro Hero from Lions Arch is a little harder going SOLO with only 5 lev 10 Henchies... I normally go and level up my heroes first in Elona then come back for my necro Hero. Or Even better get some friends together to grab him from Lions arch...
However its not TOO hard to get to Elona by any means. If I can do it with a pathetic Ranger and henchies, ANYONE can do it... Hell the Lions arch one I didnt even need to fight once. I just walked around and avoided agro... and degened the portals...

The purpose of this quest is to practically remove the demons from LA and then Komir takes you over to Elona because you have proven to her that you can be a sunspear, if you cant even do that, they dont want you, you sabotage their plans. BTW I solo'd the mission with my ranger (and my trusty cat) and it wasnt all too hard, just smart aggroing and knowing how to KITE!

I think tyria is easier because you only have to kill max 2-3 lvl 24-28 monsters who are alone.
