I dont see why its so hard for some people. me and 3 others (the rest heros) beat him on the second try. All he does is chase a single target and kite. At the time I was a paragon the rest were paragon, ranger, and heros were 2x woh, ele, ss necro, and prot. as soon as it started he started attacking me, all i did was kite in large circles while my team slowly burned, poisoned, and bleeded him to death, every once in a while he attacked someone else, but he would mainly attack me and all i did was kite. the only reason it took 2 tries is because we didnt have a rez sig and wanding him wasnt good enough for 3 people

Pain is hella easy as long as you have interrupters for the spiders. Did that one with all henches/heroes. I have harder problems with the Jennur's Horde mission.

I tried something different, I took my Trapper in, he worked a treat. I had my Hero Necro with SV and other weakening skills, and Koss in mainly to Tank. Shiro was easy, just kept trapping at his feet after I had layed down a heap of traps into one lure spot in the doorway. If you are a sissy you could try attacking him then run off to regen then attack him again, Shiro seems to have very slow regen so that might work.

Agree pain was easier for me.I just quit Madness because I got so bored.I never was able to get into temple before Shiro attacked.I did it with heroes and hench.They were at -60 ..I never got killed but after rezing them constantly to try again I just said the heck with it.I tried running and gunning all the way but dp on my heroes and hench was to much.I guess I need to go to factions to get Spoil Victor..It was at it for about a hour and half.
My chr is a ranger and had the interupts just couldnt get him down enough.
I have done the whole game with heroes and hench.I guess I give it a few tries more before I join a party.Also still have a few candy canes left from xmas..guess I need to bring them.Also the lich was behind Shiro couldnt get him.As far as nerfing well it was more like work doing the quest then fun so not sure if it wouldnt hurt.Like I say this was just pretty boring to me..I enjoy most of nightfall so far.This was tedious.Also healer hench wouldnt rez at times so glad I brought resurrect...oh well

I was so happy when I got to this mission...the first thing I noticed was "GLF Air Ele"...I was like WTF! I have played an air elementalist through factions, then through prophecies and I got turned down several times because I was air...not fire (this is despite the fact that I have everything required to use any type of magic...it's just noone bothers to ask). I feel for you, honestly, because I have been in the situation that no-one wants an ele oh so many times before.

I noticed this love for Paragons also. And it seems to be with any enemy...like me and my brother were killing Heket during some quest. He plays a paragon and I play a monk. Even when I went in to aggro the Heket first AS SOON as they saw his Paragon they lynched him. Very odd.

Gotta love people like this! I went into that mission with some guy who claims to have done it before with 2 monks and 6 eles and shiro dropped. I can easily believe this...but...there are never 6 eles around when you need them. I think "you fail at life" is a little bit harsh.

No, not really. A friend and I tried it with humans and failed twice. Took heroes and it went like a charm. I cringe at the thought of going with humans now.

How much does it help to cap the shrines like people say? I got there with heros but I made a few key mistakes and wound up dying. Like, what exactly do the shrines do for me if I go and cap them once I kill the Lich?

Automatically? If you mean by default, no. If you mean do they get them whenever you activate the shrines, yes. You can pull up your hero skillbar to see that.

You dont take wild blow to get rid impossible odds, you take it to get rid of Battle Scars the one were he takes heals when you hit him or something.
I cant see why people wouldnt want a warrior for this mission, one to tank shiro, and two for wild blow. If you tank him away from the rest of the group imp odds is not a problem.
And sorry to post but yes I did it with my war and henchies, I didnt have spoil victor, or blinding stuff, the only thing that helped me with shiro was wild blow, actually had more trouble getting to the bosses than killing them.

Step 1: Kill the lich. He's a push over.

Step 2: Cap all the shrines. You can more or less ignore Shiro while you do this if you have a sufficient number of monks.

Step 3: Cast Spoil Victor on Shiro.

Noooo, don't nerf the content, what fun is there in a game that u can breeze thru without breaking a sweat. Waste of precious money IMO. Maybe some ppl finally get forced to make a build that goes somewhere :P

I know I will try again today.I going to see if I can slip by Shiro to get to shrines.Just a note to those that did it easy...kudoes. To those that made snide remarks... it is that type of crock that makes using heroes and hench such a pleasure.I also remember doing FI with a bunch of little suzies that talked smack and when the pug for mission started they were the first to afk or bail out of the game.If you feel the need to talk trash try www.talkischeap..com .
This doesnt apply to those that did have a easy time of it and those that were trying to be helpful.Just to those that feel the need to add their little smart @@@ remarks.

Lol, i'm not that L33t, just persistent. If u got a fun group failing is no problem, u laugh about it and try again, Don't mean to be a smart ass at all. I cant offer help though, I didn't do this mission yet, but i did encounter other ones that needed a few tries, like defeating varesh. Tried it 7 times and laughed my arse off. So much for my L33t-ness

Hey guys some good comments there. I tried this mission twice with a guildie last night but had to get up early so didn't get a third try in. I had no idea about Spoil Victor (never played necro) so this is one that should really help. Also didn't think about the bonus for, uhh, the bonus, so thanks there too. The lich was easy as I just interrupted it all the time, makes him drop without doing much dmg.

I'm a sin and was blinding him, and I know with impossible odds that just makes me blind, (which I wasn't doing much dmg so no loss there), but do you all think that's fine or should I leave him alone and just hope he aggros me and kite? Although I think he was liking my dervish guildie more, must have been his dress!

it was:
sin <- me
dervish <- guildie
koss tanking and wild blow
mm with SS (it was strange but wanted to see if it would help 2nd time)
zhed <- had him setup as anti-melee mesmer ish build cause I got Goran even though I clicked Norgu (should have read more carefully) :S
2x monks (though turns out guildie had heroes both set for healing...)
illusion hench

Now I have some better ideas from this thread so thanks for that!

If you can't beat this you are doing somthing wrong. Not to be mean, but aNet pretty much made it clear that Nightfall was going to require more tactics and planning.

Like everyone said, bring a Spoil Victor necro (Dear god, one of the most unknown factions elites is vital here.) with Insidious Parasite for when he drops below the required HP, and a Air Ele with Blinding Flash and Shiro is out of there. I was able to just sit back and take his attacks thanks to the Air Ele.

Sad thing is that right when I got to Gate of Madness, I left to cap Spoil Victor to be prepared.

That wasnt in reference to you.Just general statement to some who made SA remarks.
I think persistance is what GW is all about.The game seems to center on that IMABHO.I know I have been spanked by mission or quest more than my fair share.If your haveing fun who cares.Too many take this game seriously.Anyhoo I think it is time to get Spoiled Victor....Good luck with game.
